unfortunately, currently can't afford much bourbon, luckily had some stored back, don't drink daily, maybe that'll get me through to the ssd hearing......tic,tic,tic,your govt. at work, got a wish list building though, saving for another trip to Bardstown. Lot of cool history there, stayed in the Old Talbot Tavern, offered Jimmie Russell (wild turkey master distilller some homemade, he just sniffed, but the elderly ladies in the gift shop took sips, what a hoot, my wife got a real kick out of that. If you ever get the chance, tour bourbon country, even better go to the festival, but book your rooms a year before!

Funny I barely remember eating in college. Never done Ramen noodles, had to have protein,good ole spam, and Jack Pirtle's chicken (well sometimes I could only afford a biscuit the honey pack was free)

I'm a big fan of Buffalo Trace and Eagles Rare Single Barrel. Also love the Elijah Craig 18 Year. For a cheap no nonsense tasty bourbon, it's Old Crow all the way. Also like Rebel Yell, but that's a little sweet.

Never had that one,however,I've had Stranahan's Colorado whiskey and it's great. Just tough to find. X

For me, best bang for the buck was Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel that I bought from Hasegawa Liquor in Tokyo. For $81 (..at that time…) per 700 ml bottle @120+ proof, it don’t take much to get you “there”. 🥃

Looking at my post from 10 years ago, I’ve evolved.

Inexpensive, don’t mind mixing it with ginger beer or ale and not feel bad about it- Four Roses or Wild Turkey.

The favorite taste per the buck is currently is Buffalo Trace, if it can be found for $33 a bottle.

Early times bottled in bond. 23.99, full liter, honestly better than most 40-50 dollar bourbons I’ve had.

My tastes have evolved as well... I currently have in the house:

Elijah Craig, Buffalo Trace, Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, WT101, WT Rare Breed, WT Kentucky Spirit, 4 Roses Small Batch, 4 Roses Single Barrel, and Knob Creek 12.

Evan Williams BIB... sucks. Mix that with ginger beer or in an old fashioned.
