Red Oak it is. Its nice getting it rough cut and planing it down myself, so much cheaper. These did turn out pretty nice and the guy who bought them was extremely happy. I should have taken pictures of the shelves...made them from reclaimed stair treads that I found at a scrap yard. They almost had a quarter sawn look to the grain so they really pop when you open the door. He might want two more built real soon for another room in his house lol. Thanks for the compliment Paul

Well done sir. How did you do the carvings at the top?

Very Nice Tony!

I dabble a little with wood working.

My favorite was wood turning though, and i made a few long bows.

The carvings are store bought from practically any home improvement center. Traced the top on a piece of oak, cut out the pattern, sanded to match the carving, adhere carving to wood....instant add on carving.

You can buy the exact same thing at K-Mart for 99.99. Get some craftmanship.

Nice! Can you build a small cabinet humi - about the size of a cooler? A simple box made of cabinet-grade birch plywood and lined with 1/4" spanish cedar?

Better watch....I am a mooch ya know. Once I get time to work on my own and get it up and running I will let you know. I just want to make sure everything seals properly, no wood warping, etc.

16x24 outer box of 1/2" cabinet-grade dove-tailed. Lined with tongue & grove cedar, including the lining the solid door with a miter for seal. That bugger shouldn't go anywhere.
Never took ya for a mooch and all I could offer would be candela's anyway. No Bloom's out here for sure.
