It should have, look how much public $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ was given away to Wall Street. Seems the tile of the article failed to mention the corresponding rise in the national debt. This was nothing but a measurement of the transfer of wealth in his first term.

Build that tower on a worthless USD.

= Meaningless.

What about "away from Wall street and down to Main street"?

Whatever else can be said about his administration, I've got to believe that only those blinded by their political views would not call this good news.
Ya'll may not like the Dems, but it looks like the stock market does . . . .

When a man sits waiting "just a few more minutes" for his wife to get ready, lurking is acceptable.

I'm waiting for Fox News to run a story on this explaining how it is proof that Obama is destroying the nation - again.

The "market" likes whoever is in office.

You don't have to dislike dems to see that.

Actually, I voted for Romney but I won't be voting ever again if that's any consolation.

Yes, the S&P's 500-stock index has risen 85% since Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009 per the S&P Capital IQ & employment seems on the rise (debateable however if you consider the number of seasonal/temporary jobs counted and folks who have given up and are no longer counted, but for argument's sake let's say employment IS increasing).

Problem is, previous recessions have also enjoyed temporarily increasing employment numbers. The other factors in the Obama recession which began last July (conservatively estimated because the Bush recession of 2007 never really ended IMHO) is the ever dropping industrial production, personal income, and overall sales numbers. These are 3 of the 4 barometers in measuring a recession- the 4th being employment of course.

Interesting how all this comes to light on the cusp of Obama's re-election.
Btw, I believe Europe's recession was officially proclaimed last January.

Yes, no doubt this is the finest economy I've seen in my 53 years on the planet. How can you argue with sustained, long-term unemployment at 8%, all-time high gas prices, sky-rocketing food prices, record numbers of people going on SSDI, record numbers of people going on food stamps and cash assistance cards, a fresh round of tax hikes, unsustainable borrowing and debt, zero willingness by either side to cut even a penny of entitlement spending .... yes it's a real humdinger. Can't argue with that.

At least we're finally into the period where a few on here are willing to stop whining about "W" and start admitting he's been out of office for 4 years and isn't running for re-election.🐴
