I apologize for the long post up front:

How can you discuss the show and the facts offered when you haven't watched it?
Real doctors wearing white smocks or a suit and tie have been advocating medical use for decades. The problem is that ANYONE recommending or using MMJ is perceived as a "stoner" regardless of their appearance.
I never said "anyone". I said that those pushing the movement, those who are in the public view, are the stereotypical stoners.

You say you "moved beyond the poor perception and have embraced the concept of medicinal mj" but continued to make Anslinger-ish type comments, broad characterizations, and statements that are completely wrong and illustrate your lack of acceptance/knowledge of the facts. IMHO the discussion is hysterical as it appears to be an argument purely for an argument.
What have I stated that is "completely wrong"? Be careful here, because most of the counterpoints against my comments have been based on selective hearing. I say things like "all non-medicinal use of mj is for getting high" and the retort is "what about medicinal mj use?". It would be aggravating if it wasn't so funny.

Here's a couple of quotes from some other self-righteous knee jerk proponents:
"If we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion by education"
"The greatest service that can be rendered to any country is to add a useful plant to its culture."
"If people let government decide which foods they eat and medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
~Thomas Jefferson
"slave. Tend to my mj crop. then sleep with me and bear my child." - T. Jefferson

"Cannabis is remarkably safe. Although not harmless, it is surely less toxic than most of the conventional medicines it could replace if it were legally available. Despite its use by millions of people over thousands of years, cannabis has never caused an overdose death."
~Testimony of Professor Lester Grinspoon, M.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, before the Crime Subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee, U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C., October 1, 1997
I believe this to be true.

"There are no long lasting ill-effects from the acute use of marijuana and no fatalities have ever been recorded ... there seems to be growing agreement within the medical community, at least, that marijuana does not directly cause criminal behaviour, juvenile delinquency, sexual excitement, or addiction."
~Dr J. H. Jaffe, The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics. L.Goodman and A Gillman, 3rd edn. 1965
Would you openly use it in front of your kids?

"Simulated driving scores for subjects experiencing a normal social "high" and the same subjects under control conditions are not significantly different. However, there are significantly more errors for alcohol intoxicated than for control subjects"
~Crancer Study, Washington Department of Motor Vehicles
So we shouldn't worry about the driving. We should let kids smoke pot and drive. If you say no, then you're not truly believing what this study says.

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
~Biblical - Genesis 1:29
You do realize that the earth is full of many poison herbs and berries and such. Don't you?

The fact is that pot should be legal in all 50 states for medicinal use. Right now. I firmly believe this.

Making it street legal deserves further consideration and the proper approach.

Maybe it has already been covered here but, the whole medicinal marijuana movement and the push to legalize it is fronted by potheads.

Quote from the last rally:
"There is significant evidence to prove that the use of marijuana has no long term eff.....dude. I'm SO wasted. Now, where was I? Oh yeah. Anyone got some Doritos?"

All drugs should be legal, and no I don't use any. Remember prohibition? Prohibition stemmed the largest criminal wave in the past one hundred years. Drugs should be legalized, taxed, and when abused, treated as what it is. A public health issue. Do you know how many people are in prison on non-violent drug offenses? Do you know the percentage of those that are white, Iam white by the way. Do you know how much that costs us as law abiding, tax paying citizens? Keeping drugs illegal fills criminals pockets. We probably funded 9/11 through AL Qaeda's illegal network of opium distribution. For those who say "well what about my children and their safety?" I have five children. Raise them with morals and a sense of community. Liquor stores are on every corner of this used to be great country. Alcohol is one of the worst drugs out there. We as a people need to stand up and take this country back. With the disappearance of the middle class all of our days are numbered. It is time we had a complete turn about on how we view this world. All i wish is to leave it better for my children. I don't see this happening and it saddens me greatly.

Long Live Cigars!!!
