I don't fault him for anything other than saying he's the best cornerback in the NFL.

I think that the only few people that know what the running over to him and slapping him on the butt was about are the ones that were right there on the field. I saw him congratulate one of the receivers earlier in the first half with a slap on the butt after they caught a pass on him. Supposedly there is a history with those 2 from off the field incident at a house they were staying in while training in the summer. Either way I don't hear anyone saying Crabtree did any wrong by shoving him in the face. Is it not a double standard because he didn't say anything into a microphone and his team lost.

First off, he repeated his low brow rant at the podium, after the "10 minutes".

Being "amped up" doesn't justify anything. It may explain it, but it's not justifiable simply because his hormones were in a tizzy.

Crabtree "smacked" his face? What kind of warped viewpoint is that? Sherman chased after the receiver, smacked him in the butt and then got in his face.

I like Pete Carroll. I was happy that Seattle won.

But Sherman's reaction was classless.

It's not a huge deal. But giving him a pass on an obvious display of poor sportsmanship shows just how low our expectations have become.

Who are you to judge what my expectations are?

Sherman said he popped Crabtree's butt and said "Good Game". I have to take the man at his word because I have no proof of anything otherwise.

This happens in all of Sports.

I'm not a Nascar fan, but there are lots of "rants" following a wreck or a close finish.

My point is, give the guys an opportunity to come down from the "high" of competition.

I think we all have said things we regret in the heat of the moment.

It's not judging. It's a discussion.

Don't get your panties all twisted.

Oops. Sorry. Don't want to "judge" your choice in undergarments....

This is a good point, but contradicts the pass you're giving him.

Is Sherman apologizing for saying things out of raw emotion? In the heat of the moment?

It's been two days, and if he regrets his words I'm sure there's at least a tweet by now.

crickets.

I have to weigh in on this conversation.

You can't expect a Man to be polite 10 minutes after a battle like that.

For an entire week he focused on beating this team down. I can only imagine how "amped up" this guy was.

Then factor in Crabtree smacked him in the face.

What do you expect. The guy did his job, shut down Crabtree to win the game, had an altercation, is now going to the Super Bowl.

I don't fault him for anything other than saying he's the best cornerback in the NFL.

Talk about low expectations and sportsmanship, or a lack thereof.

I'll just bet many of you would not give the same pass to either one of the Manning boys, Drew Brees, or Tom Brady, if they said something so boneheaded and threatening post game. It seems as if some of you guys expect that kind of trash from certain players. I don't get the double standard.

Is there a such thing as a sore winner?

I would. Why? I don't give a shit. It's a game. I enjoy the game. I couldn't possibly care less about the players. No one was hurt......he didn't threaten anyone....I've cursed more in this post than he did. I guess I got better things to worry about.

Apparently some of you guys never played football. I trash talked. I spit...threw punches.....one of my favorite tricks was to get in a 3 point stance and grab a handful of dirt and grass and throw it into the opposing players eyes while simultaneously busting them in the chin. I got in their heads.....made them think.....meanwhile I was bringing down their QB like a lion on a gazelle. It ain't croquet or game of billiards over a pint.

I was also Student Body President and a decent student. I had a job and loved my Mom. I wasn't a "thug" or ghetto rat. I was a football player.

ps...I did the same things to my friends in practice and they did it back to me.

ALL the negative comments toward Sherman are hilarious.

Division rivals Richard Sherman and Michael Crabtree have had a beef for over a year, each trashing the other when the opportunity arises.

Most people saw a video clip taken completely out of context.

When the network needed ratings fodder they went straight to the most historically outspoken source on the field.

Those familiar with the entire situation saw adrenaline, excitement, retribution, honesty.

AND a lot of frustration of a man enduring three hours to make a big play with very few opportunities.
