Actually one ship was sank. As it turns out two years later the Germans tried to capture the French navy in Toulon and the French scuttled almost the entire fleet. Something like 70 ships. Churchill was wrong and the British can't be trusted.

Lets raise our cups to the original Botl, Sir Churchill, who said, 'Never Surrender!!'

To which the french replied- "The German tiger will wring your neck like a chicken- we surrender'

After wining the war, Churchill replied "Some neck on that chicken"

Its been bothering me, just remembered who actually said that: General George S. Patton "I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me"

All the talk of french protection and something about capitulation, reminded me of that.

Ya know HD I just read a book on the Statue of Liberty and have changed my tune a bit on the French. Yes they are effeminate pansies but without them we'd still be speaking English.

I hear the French actually hate Patton.

In fact, the Parisians were forced at gun point to build an unsightly statue of him near Normandy.

Numerous cities and towns in France were forcefully renamed for Patton.

No wonder they hate him so.

The Germans actually respected the English more than the French- they turned france into a brothel.
I find it incredible that a country that large would surrender and refuse to take a stand.

That shows how their sense of entitlement is greater than humility. (I think I may have coined one right there)

Dont they expect to pay a price for surrendering, collaborating with the enemy, and losing? History and Statutes are made by the victors, which they were not.

ehhh, I'm sure that in some dismal ****tholes, the throwing of a shoe is a civil show of political disagreement much like parliamentary debate. Look at the applause generated when Dubya Bushie dodged the 10-1/2 D.
So it's all relative.

Bushie stared down his shoe assailant - both came down the pipe inches from his head, he ducked each with perfect timing, laughing in between each toss as if to say "is that all you got?!

Cankles shuddered and ran away, then immediately tried to "spin it".

Hmmm, seems they both behave similiarly when faced with truely critical decisions... 🤔

We could learn a lot from a shoe.

Excellent point.
One did stare down the assailant much like a Fred G. Sanford who doesn't fully understand nor care about the possible implications- he was afterall surrounded by security and probably tired of war after courtmartialing young boys shackled with his war regs. The other turned her head, exposed her expansive ass, & subconsciously, passively submitted to the assailant much as she did to her adulterous spouse. Then she drew upon the PR machine that invented the Benghazi video excuse to convert her into another brave Bushie.
