Play to win, baby!!! If not, get at least a tie, then the USA is in. Go USA!!!

and it'll help if Portugal beats Ghana by only one or two or at least draws with them...Go Portugal!!!

Honestly, before the World Cup started, the USA would've been happy with a win and a tie for their first two games.

Hmmm...the USA would advance if Ghana beats Portugal by only one goal and if USA only loses by one or two, we still have goal differential and head to head over Ghana.

Hope for a draw between Ghana and Portugal...fingers crossed...

And Ghana and Germany should both have fresher legs.

Not sure if USA's strong showing vs Portugal was legit or a reflection of a weakened Portugal, but if they can hold and move the ball as well vs Germany, they can get a result. Problem is that Germany has more speed on the counter-attack and are more tenacious on-ball defenders.

Anybody else having difficulty understanding the British announcers and analysts? It was tough to understand them during the Holland vs Chilly match.

I almost shut the game off when the mokawked dude flopped for 10 minutes.

And why did the American players continue to flop and get up slowly after we got the lead?

30 seconds fewer in "extra time" and we win the game.

I think the games are fun because Team America is playing.

Just like I'll watch curling or the long jump during the Olympics.

But the fact remains that Soccer is a Chump game. The players would rather use deceit than skill to win a game. Which is a shame, because there are some great athletes playing the sport.

The numbers are in more people watch that World Cup game in the United States yesterday then watch the BCS championship game.

I hate flopping in looking for the penalty as well. I'm just sad that it's crept in the basketball and football.

In soccer, a false infraction in the first 10 minutes can very likely decide the game.

So I see why the gutless players do it. I don't understand why the seemingly good players do it. And I certainly can't understand why the league isn't doing anything about it.

They are. It's a yelliw. Being a pats fan who complained about a no call on a Gronk play designed to get the penalty in the end zone rather than a catch I can only assume you are kidding. You wanted the call to win the game.

Netherlands basically gets a bye vs. Mexico. Chile & Netherlands could be good. The Dutch players are use to playing better competition. Notso much for the Chileans.

Need to get some soccer time tomorrow.

If they would instant replay Offsides and Goal/No Goal calls, and add an additional ref, there would be a better game and more fans.

Flopping does make me nut. Until he gets a couple yellow's and an ejection, Ajen Robben will continue to flip around like a spastic punk rocker. He's the worst.

I think Mexico has a chance. They are playing decent soccer right now and that goalie has proven he can keep them in any game. I think that game will be a decent watch.

I hate flops too and the reward is higher than the risk. I like the goal/no goal tech they are using.

As I said, it's a shame it has spread to the nba. But this **** is nothing new in any sport.

On my college team I had a striker from Malaysia (Bada) who was the master of getting away with the intentional hand ball. He'd screen the ref with his body act like he was trapping with his chest then used both arms to drop the ball to his feet. He didn't need to, he was Awsome. We just got bored sometimes lol. His favorite was when he could turn his back to the field and do it towards the opposing fans. They always freaked out.

Meh. Athletes are aholes in general I guess.

Can't watch NHL Hockey? OK.

The NBA sucks? Well, OK. The NBA does suck.

But soccer fans? If you don't like soccer, it is YOU who have the issue.

YOU obviously don't understand!!

Purposely running a play to initiate contact and get the penalty is deceiving the ref. but you know that and just like to argue.

And I've got no issue with it unless you bitch when the refs see through it snd don't make the call.

You couldn't be more wrong.

The refs job isn't to define intent. Interference is interference. You may not have meant to hold him, or to step out of bounds or to drop the ball or to smack Sir Tom in the face. But if you do any of these things it's a penalty.

Probably 50% of all passes thrown over 30 yards are intended to draw a penalty.

A hail mary pass is NOTHING without the threat of a holding or interference on the play.

This isn't about deceiving the ref.

It's about getting the call if the infraction occurs.

Belichick didn't want to fool the ref. He wanted to get the player to make a stupid mistake.

I am beginning to understand the depth of your hatred for belichick. You'll argue points that bear zero facts to support your stance, simply because it's against him.
