I feel that we've already out-kicked our coverage.

I mean, here in the USA the NFL reigns supreme, followed by the other three, MLB, NHL, NBA and probably even golf before you start talking about soccer.

The rest of the world lives and breathes futbol like we do football. To even get to the round of 16 is an accomplishment.

If we had beaten Germany, the USA would play either Russia or Algeria, both beatable. Taking second in the group puts them against a Belgium team that beat the USA in a friendly match 4-2 recently, albeit in Belgium. Hope the team recovers physically by next Tuesday. They looked spent during most of today's second half.

That said, advancing was an accomplishment that few experts predicted for the USA in the run-up. Although Belgium will be favored, I like the USA's chances to get to the quarters.

Ya, I see...Argentina looms, if USA can get past Belgium. Then the Netherlands...wow.

But you have to play the best to win it, and this World Cup has been full of surprises. Before the Cup started, whodathunk Greece, Mexico and Costa Rica would still be alive? If USA makes it to the next match, they can surprise Argentina (hope Messi misses the bus), but the Dutch are scary good.
