Great beef from Argentina...

Wondolowski choked near the end of the game...he was right in front of the open goal, three yards out with the ball at his feet, keeper to one side...just had to tap it in...but he tried to drive it through the roof...USA could've lucked out in regulation time.

Belgium was the better team and its players are more skilled. USA looked like the weakest team in the knockout round.

Yes that was brutal. To me it looks like the majority of players try to put too much on their strikes when all it calls for is a tap and the right placement. Inside the box their is hardly ever a reason to kill it placement is all that matters.

Oh I will root for Messi and Argentina because for the last couple years Ronaldo has been the player everyone talks about and he deserves his.

Messi was invisible vs Switzerland until the late assist. That team hasn't looked good. Di Maria has been the only guy busting it for the full 90/120 minutes.

I don't think the Germans were suprised by the French in 1940. Or for that matter, 1872.

1914-15 was different.

Predictions for tomorrow.

Columbia keeps it close until midway through the second half and then Brazil finishes them off.

France upsets Germany.

I'm the only person West of Normandy (other than HockeyDad) picking France, so you are in good company.

This is a tough one for me. I must root for France but if they lose to Germany I then must root for Germany since its roster is packed with Bayern Munich players.

France is still trying to figure out how to play with Benzema and Giroud on the field at the same time. Germany really only has Klose as a true striker and just plays with a ton of really good attacking midfielders and klose on the bench. Well......it is working.

Nothing flashy about Germany. Quiet, determined, machine like passing and defense.

France has moments of splash, but can't seem to string five passes together.

France had a few quality opportunities, but Neuer made some great saves, and Hummels blocked a sure goal.

RIP France, condolences to HD...

Columbia/Brazil??

This is why many Americans just can't get into soccer...

the outright flopping and dramatic flopping, and generalized flopping, with the occasional justified flopping.......... is making me sick...

the flow of the game is terrible.....constant fouls......crappy south american soccer

booooo!

Argentina v Belgium. Moving he ball around on the ground vs Belgium air game and physicality.

Will Di Maria continue to shine? How will Messi perform on the largest stage he has ever been?

Netherlands to edge Costa Rica, 141-0. It might not be that close.
