Separation of Church and State has nothing to do with the States endorsement or lack thereof when it comes to Religion.

It has everything to do with law of the land being separate from the laws of religion. Grander to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, render to God what belongs to God. They are two completely different channels of delegated authority meant to coexist.

This situation is total BS. It really appears (and is not) about religion but a venue for the kids to sing in. The school leadership should grow a pair and tell the concerned individual to FO.

AL, I would take that position regardless of the skin color of the kids and where they are from.

Why do they have to go as a school group ? If the parents are paying for it and support it they can take their kids to sing songs about fairytales where ever .

You don't get it . Why does the school have to be involved ? The parents should be able to get their kids to wherever . It doesn't have to be associated with the school at all . Is this a captain obvious reference?

Your argument is like saying: "why don't the kids just organize their own football team without the school?"
Or
Why don't the parents just teach the kids themselves? Even they could read a book.

That aside, the simple question is this:
Is the act of singing in an historical religious building against our laws of Church and State if done in a voluntary school group and financed personally?

My opinion is that it does not.

Some Aholes complain and our schools bow to them. I do not see a problem with separation of church and state here.

First amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. "

You still don't get it 😣 Why does the governmental have to do everything for everyone ? Aren't you tired of this welfare ? Pay your own way .

I hate to see kids lose the educational opportunity to visit another culture, tour a historic building, and broaden their horizons .

I suppose they could form their own non school affiliated choir and go... but this isn't it so that's sort of irrelevant.

*shrug*

That aside I still find it silly.
