I guess the problem is enlisting the aide of foreigners during a presidential campaign.... is it necessarily the Russian govt? Who knows. They do have enough influence over their populace that involvement with a Russian private citizen to solicit information about their opponent carries a high risk of Russian govt involvement. Does it mean it happened? Unclear yet.

As a 'private' boss, any of them can shun the media when they want, spin stuff, keep it to themselves, let the news cycle rotate on to something else. As the elected first family, they have tried to be the same way....little need for whole truths....nor complete honesty, outrage at those who question them....etc.

It keeps coming back to bite them. It may well be true that nobody in the family, nor the campaign camp did anything at all illegal, or even wholly immoral. But, as long as they withhold facts, hoping **** will go away, they keep stepping on their dicks. If they'd have just laid out the chronology and the contacts...and the facts (even their versions of facts) when things blow up, this crap would fade out quickly. As it is, its a fn sideshow that either obscures any good news...or prevents any real goodness from taking place while they try to spin and react
