Last weeks paper talked about some punk(s) painting a swastika onto the hood of a car in town. This part of town is well to do and happens to have a higher jewish percentage than other parts of town. (for instance, Robert Kraft owns a home nearby).
It's terrible to read about.
Now a week later, the headline is about the town committees meeting to discuss the "swastika incident" and how we should re-institute the towns affirmative action committee.
There have been no other reported crimes of this sort in the news locally.
Once again we have two sides:
1. the people who want to over-react and loudly exclaim how they're the most offended and anyone who isn't just as vocal about it is obviously a racist.
and
2. people who see a crime and want it punished far more severely than it has been in the past, thereby preventing other punks from duplicating it.
THere is no third side. No one thinks it's OK to do it. And no one outside the punk and his uncircumcised sugar daddy thinks it's even remotely funny.
I think next week the paper may request a candle light vigil.
No word if the car hood has been cleaned or repainted.
