The closest any American president came to accepting a sit-down with the North Koreans was Clinton. He rejected the idea after his secretary of state saw it was bs.

It's a big deal to the North Koreans. It validates/empowers them.

No other potus would have met with this butcher.

But I'm sure it will look good (wait, maybe the mid-term elections had something to do with it?) to all those already enamored and hypnotized by King Donald the Orange.

I'm not necessarily against this meeting... And I haven't decided yet if it was a success or a failure or a... Meh... But the meeting hasn't really given any indication of reducing the chance of a rogue rocket taking out Tokyo.... I think that's still a chance.

To be fair to trump, he didn't really do anything terrible here.

The document they signed didn't really commit either north Korea or the USA to anything... The denuclearization wording was vague and non-committal, and trump didn't give anything up for it.

His statement that a war games will stop is a concession... But it isn't written down anywhere, so he could technically walk that back, especially if Un doesnt do anything with the nonspecific denuclearization.

Not a huge loss. North Korea got their meeting with the US. But I don't see that as the bad thing others see it as. I wouldn't have been upset at Obama for meeting with n Korea.

Now if only he weren't such a train wreck with our actual allies.

If this were easy, Obamy could have done it.
