I missed the explanation....because it's hard? Because we don't want to know the answer?

seems that people would refuse to return the questionnaire, because of suspicions of some kind about the government...

We're a nation of morons if we omit an important question because immigrants might be too butt hurt to answer.

if the goal is to do an accurate count of persons in this country, it should be done without discriminatory purpose....seems that was the gist of the Fed Appellate Court and SCOTUS decisions in over-ruling the WH argument to include the citizenship question...

and it ends with a whimper...
(I may have quoted someone).

as some of us have been saying all along, and Trump has recently learned, virtually all of that info is already known and accounted for by other agencies to whom that actually matters...Social Security is just one example.

Let the head count begin.

Was the question in question not on the census already until Obama had it removed? And Trump was just trying to have it put back on?

I haven't followed real closely, but I recall hearing or reading that.

So, Trump isn't trying to subvert the Supreme Court.
Trump asked his administration and departments to do what they're already doing -- just do it better.

How do the TDS'ers frame their outrage at this now? We all know it is coming....just curious what shape it takes

SS, IRS and others have to give their records to the Commerce department to assist in the census count... but I expect the 9th to block this also.. 😟

I mean... I'm reasonably happy with the outcome. But that's only because he failed. Up until the announcement, cheetolini was saying he was considering "using an executive order" to put the question in.

It appears that sufficient people in his staff told him it wouldn't work.
