More specifically, it is San Francisco Bay Area East. They get the tax advantages of Nevada but are still close enough to the bay to head over for the weekend and get their man-bun washed and fluffed and then have some ramen at that new place that just opened and is all the rage.

Idaho would be a good choice. I think Texas is definatly an option. The outskirts of the Dallas suburbs come to mind, specifically west.

Spey you ever visit where you are in the 80’s? Man it was nice. By the 90’s it was creeping into California East……

I'm a few hours north. Dallas is expanding very rapidly. Some very nice neighborhoods, restaurants and stuff.. if you moved to the Houstonarea you'dbe close da Gulf.. which offers lots more activities.. only a few hours to New Orleans even...😟

Austin is very cool back in the 90 's too....

No idea about today?

Listen to whistles advice...be close but not smack dab in it.

Isn't Dallas becoming over run with "progressives" from CA, too?

Austin is the Portland of the south. It’s character and charm are currently overshadowed by lunatics.

That’s my neck of the woods.

Frisco is new and super nice. Spendy too. But not technically Dallas county. True west Dallas get you into Carrolton. A nice bedroom community.

I live a bit more northwest in Denton County - next to the lake.

No income tax here is Texas. Lots of sunny days and some 100+ temps in the summer. Almost never see snow.

Dallas, and Texas, are both noted for their conservative attitudes.
