Same boat as when I was in town? Now I don’t feel so bad.

No. Went inshore fishing with another CA transplant. He has a center console. Targeted sheepshead and had no luck. Switched to reds in the marshes and no luck there, either.

You can go back to feeling bad. 😁

3d printing seems cool and stuff but I have no practical application for it.

20 years ago when I had a Bridgeport and a lathe in my little shop it would've been nice for prototypes but I've not machined anything since around 08-09.

I don't have a practical application either. We use one at work to make small prototypes and hand out to customers.

The only practical application I can (weakly justify) for having one at home is to play with, print some random stuff, and to expose my kids on doing 3D prints. It's a hobby that they could potentially add to a resume if they want to get into it and doing some CAD stuff. Who knows.

I'd love to have a lathe and an end mill to play with but I don't have place to put them. If I wanted to do something on that, I have a friend a couple towns away that has all that stuff in a machine shop barn behind his house plus a bunch of welding equipment. The guy is a genius when it comes to anything mechanical. Even though he has modern technology, he still does many drawings by hand. He's probably the only person I know that knows how a slide rule works.

Fishing is a great thing to do. Even a bad day fishing is still relaxing. I love doing it but, sadly, eating fish is not my thing. Fish tastes like fish which is yucky to my taste buds. I catch and release unless someone I'm fishing with will eat it.

The Sun burned off the clouds today. Weather folks are calling for low 30's and mild wind.

My daughter passed her road driving test today. Another teen getting over a hurdle of life and can legally operate a vehicle. YIKES!

Have coaxed a large, loose Rottweiler into our garage and closed the door.
Called the city, give them the information. They are sending an officer.
Twenty minutes later, they call back. ‘Are you comfortable with loading up the dog and taking it to the Humane Society?’

Let’s see.
It is a 100lb+ dog, dragging a retractable leash (imo) mega-dumb.
It is so undisciplined, it broke away from his person and did not come back to them.
It has a large link, chain (can’t see if it is a choke chain or not).

No, I’m not comfortable with that.

An hour later……. Grrr.

I’m not sure if he is trapped in the garage, or we are trapped in our house.

So could I.

Called back. Understand you have to triage. People and the things they do and I agree they should be the priority. That said, we need to get on with our day. We obviously are trying to do the right thing. We live in such a screwed up world, I just don’t want to get sued. Being an officer or animal control can’t come, can I just let it go?

I can’t tell you what to do. You have to decide.

Could I get a more governmental answer?

Can see my future. Let this dog go, and later when we are walking our dog today, one or all of us get bit in the azzz.

Walked the dog, went to the gym, made myself a protein shake and prepped some chicken thighs for the grill later. Momma wanted Teriyaki, so hers are marinating... I wanted my bbq rub, so the rest have been olive oiled and rubbed with my bbq rub. I shall prolly grill them around 2-ish while I have a cigar in da garage.

When I was a dam operator we lived in San Gabriel Canyon where idiot dog owners would dump off dogs instead of taking them to a shelter. The coyotes would usually run them down and kill them. Occasionally they would show up at our house. We got the same run around from animal control so I just said I'll take care of it myself and hung up. Most were starving, one had a broken leg and some were not friendly, they ended up hurried in the canyon.

I didn't like that solution but I had kids and our one animals to think about and we defiantly had rabies infections in that area.

There was one time animal control was on the ball and reacted immediately. I caught a bat in my shirt tails and they wanted it right then, on a Sunday no less. It turned out to have rabies.

I just sat in a sunbeam. Our 6 weeks of darkness is over.

Have to climb up on the mountain a bit to get any direct sunshine for those 6 weeks starting about mid December. I didn't this yr. So that sun felt great.

On the flat we only get a dappling of sun during those 6 weeks.

Bout time to start outside chores/spring prep. We got a lot of gardening stuff in the mail yesterday. We'll start our seeds indoors, under grow lights, in two weeks.

8Track- If you're waiting on them you're backing up

Drafter- Bout a 1/4 to 1/8 inch.

Hope all you guys have a good weekend.

I prefer thicker slices... in fact, thinking about deep frying the whole thing... maybe serve it on a stick or something... 🤔
