With all this talk of Hicks bashing the Left and their socialism, what about Tampon Tim who says socialism is about neighborliness and stuff? 🤔

Karl Marx may have been a groundbreaking philosopher, but he was a shitty sociologist. His predictions failed to account for human nature and dynamics. Turns out that people are even less simple than he accounted for.

As obvious the the failures of socialism/communism are, it tends to have people think that there is no value in the concepts and that unbridled capitalisms is a good thing. Neither of which is true.

Marx should have listened to Tears for Fears...

I'd like to see Brewha define what that "unbridled capitalism" thing is. That would be funny.
It would probably be some Marxist gobbledygook.

Be afraid, be very afraid if capitalists exercised their freedom to serve the wants and needs of the consumer without some commie and fascist government technocrats barking orders at them.

Kommie-La proposes communist price controls to curb high consumer prices.

Working off of Old Joe passing the buck for price inflation on "corporate greed, " Kamala proposes a federal price gouging ban.
I guess these Lefties think that we have too much of that "unbridled capitalism" thing exploiting the proletariat. That's weird, it's just like Karl Marx's theories.

Food and grocery bills are hurting Americans. Harris will unveil first ever gouging ban

Rebecca Morin
USA TODAY

WASHINGTON – Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, on Friday will call for the first-ever federal ban on price-gouging from food and grocery industries — hitting on a policy that is among the top concerns for many Americans.

“There’s a big difference between good business that’s responsive to markets and excessive prices that are unrelated to the costs of doing business,” the Harris campaign said in a release of the proposal.

Harris will deliver a major economic speech in North Carolina on Friday, where she will announce the plan. She will also unveil proposals related to drug costs and housing costs, the campaign said.

Friday’s speech will be the vice president’s first policy-centered speech since she skyrocketed to the top of the ticket after President Joe Biden stepped aside from the 2024 presidential race.

Over the weekend, Harris came out in support of eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers, a policy Republican presidential nominee and former president Donald Trump has also proposed.

McMaken is right. It's not that the Harris/Waltz campaign doesn't know about the disastrous economic effects of price controls, they just don't care. "...the price-control plan is nothing more than a cynical ploy to get Harris elected and to scapegoat farmers, ranchers, and other food producers. "

Kamala Wants Price Controls, and It’s Not Because She Has “Good Intentions”

The Kamala Harris campaign announced today that it will present a plan to ban “price gouging” by food suppliers. In other words, the Harris campaign plans to mandate price controls.

Get ready for rising prices and shortages in meat and other groceries, because that’s where laws against “price gouging”—which are price controls—lead.

True enough.

There are many here that feel that any law or regulation regarding business is a BAD thing. Just like the Cbid wisdom on guns.

All you have to do is play Monopoly to the end and you’ll see that there is a need for some controls (laws, regulations). Else one wins and everyone else looses. And there are many who see nothing wrong with this. The term ruthless comes to mind.

So Harris is talking about controls. And the right (who cry about the date rape of paying gas prices, or $7.99 for a bag of Cheetos) will tell us that all her ideas are bad - even having never heard them.

Interesting about the “no tax on tips” thing: Trump promises this, the Left agrees (this should be a win for everyone - “democracy”) - but Trump goes off the rails. She “stole his idea”.
Next he’ll be telling us she “stole his election”…….
