Went to see the only operational Union Pacific Big Boy today.

Massive turnout I couldn't believe how many people were there. It was 2 hours away and when we got 3 miles away, traffic stopped. 2.5 more hours for the last 3 miles.

Brought my dad along cause he's a bit of a train nut like my son, so after we saw the Big Boy we went up to Rockford and stopped at the Illinois railway museum.

Had a good day despite 8 hours in the car. If grampa wasn't with us I would've turned right around in that traffic and went back home.

Wife's grandma died last night so we've been up all night. Went in the hospital last night. Heart failure and kidney failure. She didn't want dialysis or any aggressive treatment so she went on hospice/comfort measures only and passed overnight.
