Busy day.

Mowed, then decided to trim all the trees out back that had branches that hit me while mowing. Put the generator in my wagon and drove around with my electric pole saw to trim all the trees.

Got done with that and cleaned the chicken coop.

Then I decided to drop the 12ft of stump that was still standing from last year's tree cutting when I rented a man lift to take it down. Was too big in diameter for my 14" saw so I planned to buy a new saw this year. Never did. Cut it down with the lil guy.

Chopped into rounds and split half of it. Stacked it in the woodshed. Lit the burn pile from last week's tree cleanup from the storm.

Grilling burgers now. I'm exhausted. I'll finish tomorrow

Top of the morning MACS😉

All of the rain we've been getting has really brought the grass, and weeds, back to life.

Last week I spent 6.5 hrs weedeating and there's still a couple more hours worth to do. Bout to go mow right now.

You guys have a good one.

Yeah... my grass is long and it's gonna rain for days, so it ain't getting cut any time soon. My mower is probably gonna be struggling when I do get the chance to cut it. 🤦

Finished splitting the last two rounds from the tree. The biggest one on the bottom I'd bet weighed 300+ lbs. It took all I had to flip it/roll it. Thankfully my splitter is a vertical/horizontal convertible splitter so I was able to quarter the rounds on the ground before going back to horizontal to do the final splitting. Got 4 big wagon loads out of two rounds. Got it stacked and cleaned up.

Fire station up the road having open house today so we went for a firetruck ride. Been doing it 10 years now, this is the first time the boy was willing to take the front seat to push siren pedal and pull the horn.

Family birthday party this afternoon. I made some brisket sliders to bring. Just threw together some stuff, hopefully it works.

Finishing my cigar on the patio and leaving in a few. Then the weekend's over.

I'm really not liking the working M-F life. Been bugging the boss to give me 4 10's or 3 12's, but he said they're phasing out the 10 and 12 hour shifts to go back to all 8's with varied start times. Two other people who started around the same time as I did were also asking for 4 10's got sick of waiting and quit in the last month. Thursday he pulled me in the office and asked me to hang on a while longer and he'll get me 10's but they can't do 12's. I told him I have no problem doing 5 10's in the winter but I really need time off during the week when the weather's nice. I suggested 2 12's and 2 8's as an alternative, that was my schedule back in my ER days and it worked We'll see. They have until March 4 to make it happen cause I told them I would put in a full year.

Weather's been beautiful this weekend.

If we didn't have to go to this family birthday thing I'd put up my Christmas lights today too.

Made king pao chicken for lunch.

Rained much of the day. Rain all week from the hurricane.

Top o' the mornin' to all-a you'ze...

Just dropped over $330 at Costco. Got a brisket that's over 21 lbs and about 2" thick at the corner where it's usually thinnest. The point is pretty damn big, too. This mofo gon' be goooood. Got some ribeyes, salmon, chicken, dog food, water and such.

Gonna be wet around here until Friday, it seems. Prolly windy, too. 😟
