So I bought one of those robobot vacuum cleaner thingeis on a whim. It's a Shark brand (and no, I didn't ask Ram for his approval).

Plugged it in, let it charge and let it run on it's maiden voyage. It's not an expensive one with AI and maps out the floor plan and stuff. It's a dumb one that when it bumps into something it backs up, turns a bit and tries again until it gets smooth sailing (I knew this going in but I wasn't gonna spend $500 for a whim purchase).

My place is all laminate flooring (the fake wood stuff of a couple designs, and fake tile in the bathroom) with some area rugs. The robot vacuum worked better than expected other than it being stupid around furniture and walls - bump, twist, bump, twist, bump twist.

The cat was like "WTF is this?" and stalked it while it was driving around. You can even download an app, connect it to your WiFi and remotely tell it to go clean and return to it's docking station. If I'm bored at work, I'll wake it up from my phone app and tell it to do a run just to frank with the cat during the day and then tell it to go back to its docking station.

Simple things in life...

If I have cell service or internet service for the phone, I can remotely tell Rosie (yes, I named it after the Jetson's maid) to wake up, vacuum the floor and freak out the cat. I suspect my cat will eventually get used to it and not even bat an eye. He maybe might even try to ride it.

LMAO 😺 will get use to it, great entertainment.🤣

Ps: Purchased approved.[ram27bat]

Now I need some robot to do my dishes for me and stuff. There is a reason why cats, dogs, and most domesticated animals don't have thumbs - it's by design. Without thumbs, we can't assign them daily chores or other responsibilities so they get to sleep all day.

"Sorry man, I'd love to do the laundry but I ain't got no thumbs. I'm gonna go take a nap now."

We have a similar dumb robot vacuum, I don't like the noise, but it works pretty well when we are gone.

This one is pretty quiet. It works well on the laminate floors and pretty well on the area rugs but the suction is not as strong as handheld one but that's expected.

If I want a good sucker, I'll use the normal vacuum for the area rugs.

Backatcha Ram! It's a cool 41 going to a sunny 77 this hump day.

Just about finished with all the prep work on the '65 Corvette. The Goodguys Nationals starts Friday-Sunday. Wheels and tires are the hardest on my non-bending knee and complaining back. I really need to get a lift for the garage. 🌫

Good Wednesday Afternoon to All! It's a drizzly °68 on the way to °71. Breakfast, coffee, range trip and lunch all done.

Our older son is having insurance company fun this week. A female drunk driver running from the police, driving a brand new Tesla with paper plates, ran off the road, destroyed his yard and totaled two of his vehicles parked in his driveway. Thankfully, his daughter was back in he house just a few minutes before the accident. Had the accident been earlier she would have been crushed between the two vehicles, thank the Lord.

The Tesla was also totaled and insured by Allstate. 😣

Our son's pickup is insured by State Farm, the Granddaughter's car is insured by Geico.*

*Using a different company avoids insuring a treeenager on all other vehicles.

If this wan't bad enough, he had just serviced both vehicles and replaced many parts. Oh, and the driver's friends showed up to protest her being arrested. FFS

I went through an ordeal with an a poorly insured motorist back on Mother's Day. She blew through 2 lanes of traffic and plowed into a car which hit my truck. Demolished the front end of it and they wanted to total it. Sucks because they were only offering $5K and I wanted to keep this for another 100K miles...nothing close to what I have for under 16K like for like. I paid my own deductible and they slugged it out. Truck wasn't totaled. They replaced a ton of stuff and I was happy because I KNOW the engine. Bought it brand new. The suck part 2was I just NOW got the deductible back and am still waiting for the rental car out of pocket expense.

Good luck.
