Ok guys, how does a 25 count humidor of Yellow Label Cohibas go for $76 when thy cost at least $10 to $15
in the smoke shops. Did I miss something? Also is there a way to track the bidding process other than just the winning bids, after the fact ? (food for thought) Thanks, Thump

the Cohibas I see going for $10 or so are the red dot cohibas, not the yellow banded ones, these are cheap, in fact you can get these in bundles dirt cheap.

Tell me the difference between the two. Also "dirt cheap" is relative. What I mean by that is you have to have access to the product, otherwise what is a bargain to some may not be to others.

thumper, I understand your frustration regarding this issue of the 2 Cohibas. The Yellow banded one was made by Monte de Christi Tabacos and the Red Dot Cohibas are made by General Cigar. The Yellow are discontinued because of trademark disputes with General. Also, the Yellow bands are much cheaper and any store that would charge you more than $5 TOPS for one is ripping you off big time. On the other hand, the Red Dot is expensive and a rip off just the same. The Yellow bands are a decent cigar with quite a bit of age on them, but there are way too many inconsistencies in the stick. The Red Dots are a waste of money, plain and simple. If you're gonna spend $10 for a cigar, use it wisely and buy an Ashton VSG or a Padron Anniversario, which are both better than the current underfermented Cuban Cohibas (if indeed you do find a REAL one). Hope that helps 🙂

If you bid on something and loose, you can track the bid even after it's over by checking your bidding history.

YB Cohiba's are "illagitamate" and yes, I have seen them go for up to $10 at cigar shops. Which is INSANE! There are a lot of bargains on these smokes now. If you are interested email me and I can give you a site that sells them 3 boxes for $99, any size. [email protected]

... not in California, you can't. 65% tobacco tax, 8% sales tax, overhead, etc., etc., etc. The tabacconist here sells the 'Yellow Band' Cohiba Esplendidos for $16 each. I won several boxes at CB for around $50 each. That's why I do not (except in an emergency) buy cigars in CA ... I do all my purchases out of state on the internet!

Slim, we could start a long conversation about the California issue. BEWARE, other STATES! This communism could spread! Because our (D) elected officials know more about what is best for us, we allow these know it all do-gooders to con the public into passing these idiotic laws. I too purchase my cigars on the net, but it kills me to deny my neighbors the right to a fair living by running a tobacco shop. Who doesn't love entering a tobaconist's emporium; the smells, the assortments at your finger tips, the commoraderie of fellow cigar enthusiasts? One by one they are dropping like flies. Stolen from us by the Rob Reiners of the world. I don't brag about buying on the net, I do it out of necessity. I'd much rather keep my money at home.

Yellow band Cohibas here in Chitown area are "Buy one for $4.99, get another one for free"..They're in the bargain bins in fact...I think they're essentially crap myself..I've only had one Red Dot, so I really can't comment on the quality of them

Like Aberdeen stated.........Red Dots go for $10-$15 per stick. The yellow bands are the El-Cheapos. The Red Dots as of late have been very disappointing.
