Tonight I had my first Diamond Crown (CFW). I regularly smoke the Maximus and I'm not to fond of mild cigars. I was talked into trying the (CFW)and was given a nice discount to try them. It is double fermented with a 5yr. old wrapper. All I can say is WOW!! what an incredible smoke...not at all what I expected. IMO it's not mild at all, It is definately on the medium to full bodied side to me. I will probably be given alot of crap but I liked it as much as an OPUS X. I guess every body has different tastes. I'm not good at describing cigars but it has a beautifull golden satiny sheen... (is satiny a word?).

Even though my lighter ran out of butane half way through lighting it...it still burned even with a perfect draw right through till the nub...where I burned my fingers because I could'nt bring myself to throw it away. I'm also not good at describing flavors either...so I won't try. But since I'm bored with nothing to do untill the DIOOC box pass arrives is send one DC (CFW) to the first 4 people who E-mail me with thier snailers.

Scott,

Good to hear that you liked the DC. It is definitely among the best lighter-wrapper smokes out there.

Very generous offer you made to give out smokes, but I can't.

I will just look forward to herfin it up with you, since we live 10 minutes away from eachother.

Thanks though,

SmellyDave

I'm glad to see your packages arrived safely Jeff and Dave.

Dont worry Dave I've got some real goodies for the box pass. Hopefully you make the trip up this way and I can do my puts and takes in person.

Thanks

Scott

I looked in the mailbox yesterday and Surprise!, a package. Hmmmm... I was expecting a DC from sli38 - but the box I found was much too big for one cigar! I was astonished to find four other vitolas keeping the DC company (Scott didn't want it to get lonely). Many thanks Scott, I haven't tried any of the ones you sent and look forward to doing so. Retaliation/retribution (take your pick) will be forthcoming!

My take on the DC (CFW) - excellent cigar, just finished it for lunch out in the courtyard. Great appearance, no blemishes, firm and well capped. No farmyard aroma (Darn!), but a great tobacco smell. Lit well and evenly with an effortless draw. Plumes of dense smoke and great flavor. I can't compare it to an Opus X since I've not tried one yet, but to me it tastes slightly milder than a CAO Black Frontier or Bengal. I nubbed it. I could easily smoke more of these. Thanks Scott for a great cigar experience.

Way to step up Sli. Damn not long ago you were on the noob trade. Guess I'll have to search this one out and give it a try.

Anyway - send more beer.
