That is the only thing I can think of because we did a trade and he gave me way more then he should have. Must be because he hates cigars and needs to get rid of his.

I can't believe the comments. On other cigar boards his rep isn't very good.

I have also read many of the comments directed at gamelover's behavior on the other boards.

It has been alleged that gamelover collects bands and applies the bands of quality cigars to bundled product, then trades them as primos. One trader noted that he traded gamelover Opus X for habanos. The trader noted that the habanos he received were all non Habanos that were rebanded with habano bands and that when called upon the deception, gamelover said he'd correct the error, if the trader would send more Opus. gamelover, reportedly, has been located selling the cigars for which he has traded and requested, as part of Pay It Forward.
I am merely reporting what I have read.
I have not dealt with gamelover. There are comments about his activities at Herfer's Paradise, Cigar Utopia, Cigar Divan, Cigarwise, Cigar Friends. I suggest that CBid members read those comments. It also has been reported that gamelover has been banned at more than one cigar forum.
gamelover's "profile" can be read at numerous BBSs. It is alleged that most of the information is ficticious.
While I have not traded with gamelover, I am very familiar with the superior reputations of those who have written about his activities on other boards.

If you have traded with gamelover and the allegations are true, it would sincerely be in the best interest of your reputation not to trade the cigars he has sent you.

I don't know the guy either. But it seems like there are a couple of reputable CBid members that have experienced the alleged behavior. During my year or so on CBid, I don't find it to be a place where members just up and start rumors such as these.

If these allegations are false, my heart goes out to GLover, cause it's gonna be hell to get it cleared up. If the allegations are true, to hell with him and may all his ashes fall off hot right into his naked lap.

I dont have time to frequent other boards.. this is pretty much my home..

I did a trade with gamelover and I personally can say
it was VERY fair, even heavy on his end and all the cigars were legit.. he even mentioned he could not vouce for the origin of one Cohiba..

So I'll post my facts and leave it at that..

i've heard the rumors, read several of the posts, yadda yadda. i'm very inclined to flat-out ignore rumors and gossip from any source. reading the person's own comments is something else.

if it's true, that's a shame. even so, and call me an optimist, but people can and do change. so if it is true, here's hoping that it's in the past -- not the present or future.

i went ahead and made a trade with steve, and it was fine and dandy. granted, we weren't talking high stakes here -- per our arrangement, i sent him a few midrange and good sticks; he sent back the cuban delights (cuban sandwich smokes) that i requested; he and i both included more than we said we would. he sent more of the cuban delights than i expected, and he tossed in 4 unknowners (what were those, steve-o? lol). whatever, they look fine and were bonus cigars at any rate.

the cigars were packed very carefully and arrived in great shape. they arrived in a timely manner, too.

so, if others have been burned, i'm sorry to hear that. however, based solely on MY EXPERIENCE in trading with steve, i'd be happy to trade again with him any time.

p.s. those cuban delights are for my pleasure. *grin* i likes 'em! and yes, i probably will send a couple out as extras to BOTL who want to try them; i highly doubt that anyone would go through the trouble to reband cuban delights as something else. *chuckle*

I would normally ignore this kind of message. However, I just couldn't let it pass without doing some thinking and investigating for some reason.

Normally, this kind of message would bother me a great deal. I would find it to be offensive that it was posted and the other person would then be forced to defend themselves. Of course, it would then lead to a flame war.

However, Steve*R, I appreciate it in this case. Since I don't use the other boards with any consistency, I was not aware of this reputation.

Based on the complete lack of response from Gamelover, I would normally conclude that either a) you are completely correct and gamelover can't defend himself, or b) you are not correct and gamelover is depending on his reputation to be its own defense or c) Gamelover isn't aware that this message is here. Scenario b is obviously not the answer as there isn't enough of a reputation for it to be its own defense. Scenario c also is not the answer as I know that Gamelover is aware of this thread.

So, thanks Steve*R.

Steve*R - I have never rebanded a cigar. I guess you are a TROLL also because you are talking smack about me and we have never traded before. So unlike you I choose to go on first hand facts not second hand BS! I guess that shows me what kind of a person you are.

So I the choice is yours to decide what you want to. I don't care who wants to believe all the TROLL lies about me because I know anyone who has ever traded with me knows the truth about me and that I am a good person who always does right in all of my trades.

Before we bring rumor and supposition from other boards to our forum, I believe we should consider how he's been on OUR forum. I'm not sure how many of you have experience with the individuals that are now flaming gamelover on other forums, but the experiences we've had HERE seem to be - for the most part - very positive.

That's what we have to keep in perspective.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. However, I don't think it is right for a CI employee to vouch for a member of the forums unless you have traded with him yourself. 🙂

This does bother me because Steve*R appears to be right from my research. However, if others wish to trade with Gamelover, that is up to them. I would need the ability to decline to trade with him via a TTT or other trade that is not a one on one trade. If that can't be done, then I will just stop trading completely.

Trust is vital and I don't feel that he can be trusted.

I will leave it at this, gamelover might have a checkered past, and I won't lament him trading here, but I don't want to trade with him. I will not provide any other comments as I consider this closed.

Hold on....what now bothers me is that gamelover posts on this thread without addressing the accusations.

G'lover....if you are innocent, say so man. The board isn't out to get you. We only go on what other members say. We all had to build a reputation with the others through trades and communication.

If this is all just rumor, deny it. If it is not rumor, help us understand.
