I have no idea how to photoshop anything. That is called having the fish about a foot and half closer to the camera than the people behind. Azzhats around here. And yea, the guide was strong as ****, it is his living.

I really was wiped after pulling that thing up. They are bottom feeders, so you have to pull them up as fast as possible to get their bladder to make them stop fighting as fast as possible. Most of the grouper/jack/snapper we were catching were 20-30 pounders, so I went at it like it was a 20l pounder, but I was wrong :)No cigar till we landed at the docks. It was a great day. We got probably a 200 pounds of Jack and Grouper (Snapper was not in season so we had to throw those all back). I have a picture somewhere of all the fish lined up on the board on the dock. I will post that when I find it.

Wow, speaking of hostility...
I guess no one's ALLOWED to make the observation that it APPEARED to be photoshopped. Take a look at the fish again- the outline, shadowing, positioning, etc. No big deal. Let me be the first to apologize if I insulted you.

I'm steering clear of you two cranky nutcases.

I'm strong as **** too, but I don't think I could look that relaxed while holding 55#'s of slippery writhing muscle a foot away from my chest with one hand.

Gimme a crackhead and a patrol car to slam them on to..... now you're talkin!!!!

My 1st look focused on the fish ...

Now that I come back to this thread I have to wonder about the validity of the photo ... I'm just sayin' . . .

Tbro - grouper are almost completely docile in the boat. Their air bladder over inflates. They are bottom feeders and if you pull them uo fast enough, as mentioned before, they get real easy once you get them 3/4 the way up. Its like a worst possible type case of the bends for them, but with their air bladder not nitrogen bubbles

nirvana, listen, I like you. I have no problem with you and actually think that you're alright. As for this picture, what does it matter what I think of it?

By the way, if you think I'm being a jerk, get a coat and wait for the picture that's waiting for SteveR's approval to hit the picture forum tomorrow.

^ I am not trying to make things personal, but people have specifically tried to say I was lying and it was photoshopped, which it is not. If people don't want to believe me, whatever, but insults are very different.

P.S. I not directing any of my remarks directly at you Country, I have had nothing against you in the forums since I have been here

Dude, I did not mean to be a "hater"...pics pop up here all the time that have been retooled and f#cked with, just to have a laugh and/or generate the kind of response you got. Given the lighting of the fish, the positioning of the guide's hands, and the incredible strength it takes to hold that sort of weight at arms length (given his body posture), I jumped to a conclusion.
I do apologize.
Congrats on the unbelievable catch.
I hope to see more photos of this fish.
Peace.

^ And in the interests of clarity, lest you find contention with the word "unbelievable", please read "awesome".

And, should you feel a veiled jab in the wording "hope to see more photos of this fish", in retrospect, perhaps I should have typed "more photos of what was obviously a great fishing trip".

And, by "Peace"...I meant "peace". 🙂
