Let's get to the real issue, who's the dorky looking kid next to the gigantic fake fish?

Photoshop, no question. Where is the shadow on the boat from the fish. At least a small part should be there. Outline around the fish is too sharp.

I'm sorry nir6van6a ... but I have done a lot of Photoshop stuff over the years ... and it just doesn't look real.

It may have been as you said ... the fish may be the one you guys caught ... but the photo just dosen't look natural.

Look at the belly of the fish ... and you can see some 'white' that wasn't erased. Also on the the fin next to the guy's hand holding the fish (which doesn't really look like it is in the gill).

Sorry ... I am just a 'sceptic' about the photo ... not that you didn't catch the fish.

Look at this guy. The GAG he caught looks about the same size as the one in your photo ... and he has to use two hands and a pole with a hook on it to hold it up !!!

This is pretty simple really. Just post more pictures. Surely you have a ton of this fish. It will shut up a lot of naysayers, including myself. Either way (photoshopped or not) it's a great looking fish.

#45 (vet) - Do you know how shadows work? Do you see me and the guides shadow? Which way are they going? If a fish is held off the ground, and the picture ends just left of the fish, there would be no shadow. Nice one though. As for the outline, I have no idea why it looks fake. I will admit the picture looks a little unreal because the fish is held closer to the camera and looks bigger than it really is, but I assure you, it is real. I am posting more pictures, no worries. Just have to find them.

Has nobody else held a fish closer to the camera to make it look bigger? This picture it was done accidentally, but you can make a 22 in northern looks huge if you do that.

Nirvana,

Just because the fat old girlie men can't hold a 55lb fish up for 187,000th of a second doesn't mean you have to defend yourself to them.

I wouldn't post another picture. They have been watching too much CSI and are all forensic photographers.

I am hungry for grouper now.

Strangely, the same thing happens when I whip out my "yanked by SteveR"

That's sunlight slim. Look at the angles of the shadows.

So, a 55lb fish being held out closer to the camera than the two pinheads in the back? I know I'm no p*ssy, but 55lbs at shoulder height with one arm, and dude is smiling like it's nothing?

The white by the belly (not on the belly), the white going down the bottom of the tail, the odd-looking tail fin?

No shadow?

(cough)bullsh*t(cough)

Yeah. You lyin'. Good effort, though.

Actually, sh*tty effort on the photoshop. Good effort at feigning disbelief.

Why does everyone assume he is only using one hand to hold the fish?

From wht i see he could easily have both hands in the gill plate. And have seeing this species of grouper a few times the white under-belly is the way they are marked.

As for the shadow i can't rationalize this even by looking at the angles
