Hadda stop reading after a few posts. Wanna make up my own Top 10 without any outside influences…but unfortunately there were a couple mentioned that will be in my list.

Here we go-go:

Allman Brothers Band – At Fillmore East (Deluxe Edition)
Beatles – Abbey Road
Eagles – Desperado
Kalapana – self-titled debut
Little Feat – Waiting for Columbus
Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On
Rod Stewart – Never a Dull Moment
Santana – Abraxas
Stevie Wonder – Talking Book
Van Morrison – Days Like This

My definition of "perfect" is a recording that is top-notch solid all the way through without a clunker anywhere. As such, I would listen to every song and never think of lifting the tonearm to another song or pressing "Skip Forward" for a CD. All are albums that I listened to many, many times. Back-in-the-day when I had a stackable turntable, I would put on a few of them, play them through then flip the stack over and play them again. The best was the vinyl version of "Fillmore East". The albums were pressed with Sides 1 & 4 on one record and Sides 2 & 3 on the other. The automatic sequencing allowed me to play the album in the correct order. Loved it!

Edit: finally read the entire thread and was reminded of Joe Jackson's "Look Sharp!" Played it a lot at the record store. Still my favorite JJ album.

Edit #2: was reading up on the album and found out that Joe HATED the cover ‘cause it didn’t show his face! From an artistic view, I always considered it a GREAT shot and the cover very iconic.

Kinda seasonal but Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is one heck of a great album too. Never knew there was an album of the songs from the TV show until I worked in a record store.

As I started to list albums, had “Pet Sounds” in my big list but it didn’t make the cut…and I’mma BIG Beach Boys fan! Hurt to cross them off.

That's what happened to me when it came to Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, and to a lesser degree, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's Deja Vu
