Here is my review of smoke #31

This cigar is a Long torpedo. With about a 50 ring foot, tapering down to about a 43 ring at the cap. It is a box pressed cigar, with a caramel colored natural wrapper.
This cigar is a beauty, with a seamless wrapper, that glistens in the sun, with an abundance of oils. It is a very firm roll, with no soft spots. After snipping, which was straight and true, the prelight draw, is firm, with almost no flavor. Upon lighting, the flavor starts very mild. My initial thought upon lighting, was CREAMY. When you here guys talk about a nice creamy cigar, this is what they are talking about. Very smooth with a nice medium body, creamy with notes of nuts and vanilla. I am hooked. The construction of this smoke, is amazing. The draw, while slightly firm, yields a huge volume of very tasty smoke. About an inch into this smoke, I am starting to get a touch of spice, with the flavors herbal tea. I can’t put my finger on the blend, but I have had an herbal tea, that has a very similar flavor. This thing is complex. Every puff yields a different flavor. One Puff gives me a sweet creamy vanilla flavor, the next puff the herbal tea, the next puff leather and nuts. I am loving this cigar, and know that this has to be a high dollar cigar. The construction is top notch, this ash is holding very firm past the 2 inch mark, and the burn has been razor straight. The strength and body, build as the smoke gets into the last third. Moving up into a nice full bodied finish. Though it didn’t make me weak in the knees, there is a strength there, which left me with a very pleasant buzz. The flavor profile reminds me of a well aged pardon.
The amazing changes that took place, over the smoking of this cigar, has sold me. Though I normally smoke maddies, this smoke is up there with my favorites.
On a 5 point scale, I would have to give this smoke a 4.7 excellent. Due to the superior construction, and superior blending of this, gotta be, world class cigar. If I were to Guess, I would say a PAN64. I Love it.

It was the highpoint of my afternoon.
I am about to fire up a Chisel maddie, that I have had for a little over a year, and though it is a favorite, I believe that that PAN, may have topped it. LOL

Thanks for allowing me to participate. I put a couple of my favorites in, hope to see those smokes reviewed soon. We may see that some over hyped cigars crash and burn, while some underrated smokes shine. I Love this place.

One more thing....Ferg, when you get the box, take number eight out and chuck it. It was a cigar that I liked a few months ago when I first started smoking. I thought it would be interesting to see what someone else thought about it. Then, I lit up my last one yesterday and smoked it. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone else BLECH!!!!. Thanks

This thread is going to get huge.

Smoked 33 today after a lunch of LJS fish and shrimp with cheese curds.

natural wrapped beli size. smells like cedar and sparkles in the sunlight - wrapper has many small veins.

prelight draw is good and has hints of black licorice and pepper. toasted the foot and met up with a bitter taste. the bitterness mellowed and is not unpleasant(similar to a bitter ale) very reminiscent of a blind habano I had last week. third way through still bitter with a bittersweet aftertaste. cigar is becoming earthy. half way even more earthy(aftertaste of, well dirt) still slightly bitter nothing like the blind habano. 2 inch mark hints of pepper, slightly earthy and still bitter. hmmm noticing a habano type twang not too bad of a finish. ash was very dark with a gray center.

not bad, I enjoyed the bitter tatse but not the dirt. i almost tossed it but it started to let up.

Bass, any guesses?

That was an 04 BBF, yep that habana twang didn't lie. LOL I was thinking that maybe they need to age a little more, but you confirmed it. LOL I didn't have any well aged ISOMs to put in, but I wanted to see a review of one that was blind.

i smoked a young vr today thinking it may have been a unico - but it did not have the earthy taste. the vr was quite tasty young.

I have never had a bad VR,
I have a box of Unicos, started to put that in instead of the boli, but I had more Bolis. I will do a side by side, or at least a one after another comparison this week, and see how different they are. I bought the cab of Bolivar and the dress box of Unicos, at the same time from the same vendor, and according to the box code, they were both produced around March of 04.
