natural law is survival of the fittest, use whatever means necessary to advance your DNA strain, no government intervention, if I kill you, you simply weren't fit enough rules

....that's quite wrong in fact.

The term 'natural law' is ambiguous. It refers to a type of moral theory, as well as to a type of legal theory, despite the fact that the core claims of the two kinds of theory are logically independent.

Survival of the fittest is far away at the opposite and least important end of the spectrum.

Yes adroomi, he would've been better served to say 'natural selection' vice natural law. But most of us knew what he meant.

SCARY!

Ever see the movie "Dead Zone"? It just might remind you of our current leader. VERY SCARY!!!

Therein lies the dilemma I've been attempting to address. If our "rights" aren't God given, they aren't rights. They are permissions and may be removed for nearly any reason.

It comes down to epistemology. If we are no more than a higher level of monkey, why is natural selection wrong amongst humans as a way of law?
adroomi

Uhhhhhh.......because so far we are the only species that has been proven to have a conscience? That's why we invented God. We anticipate and realize our own destiny.....death. That's (death) not acceptable to us. To monkeys it is.

herein? Therefore?

This reminds me of an ancient eskimo legend, WHEREIN it is written:
On whatever it is that they write it on up there
That if anything bad ever happens to your eyes
As a result of some sort of conflict
With anyone named Nanook
The only way you can get it fixed up
Is to go trudgin' across the tundra . . .
Mile after mile
Trudgin' across the tundra . . .
Right down to the parish of Saint Alfonzo . . .

Mo...that's the rub isn't it!

Its what seperates us from the "animals"!

That's not the rub, THIS is the rub.....

That got me just about as evil
As an Eskimo boy can be . . . so I bent down 'n I reached down
'n I scooped down
An' I gathered up a generous mitten full of the deadly . . .
YELLOW SNOW
The deadly Yellow Snow from right there where the huskies go
Whereupon I proceeded to take that mitten full
Of the deadly Yellow Snow Crystals
And rub it all into his beady little eyes
With a vigorous circular motion
Hitherto unknown to the people on this area,
But destined to take the place of THE MUD SHARK
In your mythology
Here it goes now . . .
THE CIRCULAR MOTION . . . (rub it) . . .

That's the rub.....

Isn't that sort of the way life works?
