"One out of five Mexicans in the world lives in the United States. Two reports released by the Mexican government show just how entangled the U.S. and Mexico are today. The first report is "Migration in Mexico and the World," from the National Population Council. It says that over the last 40 years "registered" immigration to the U.S. from Mexico exceeded 17 million. Remember, this is the figure for registered immigrants and does not include illegals and the children of both legal and illegal immigrants.

The second report from the Bank of Mexico, revealed that in the first half of 2003 - for the first time. Mexico is receiving more income from Mexicans settling in the U.S. than from tourism and foreign investments!"

"Another gain for illegals is the campaign to allow them to attend state universities at the in-state resident rate. Allies of the illegals have drummed up a lot of sympathy for students who are illegals and even more sympathy for the children of illegals who were no part of their parents' decision to come here. But, these steeply discounted rates were clearly intended for legal residents. It's wrong to give the cheap rate to someone who has no right to be here, while an out-of-state U.S. citizen may have to pay four to 10 times as much.

While the United States is spending millions to control illegal immigration, many states and localities are working, in effect, to undermine immigration law and to make illegal immigration more attractive and therefore more common. It makes no sense"

Tey, how about this.

I still think the illegals should go, but lets assume they are here to stay, barring some genocide or something.

How about a tax on the money they send back to Mexico? Maybe a 10% tax on all transfers to Mexico that go back to the state government where the money is sent from? The 10% can be waived for a 30 day period if they help lead Federal authorities to 5 or more illegals every month that lead to the ilegals direct deportation.

At least they would BEGIN to pay something back into the system that at this point and time they are only taking.

It still wouldn't stop them from mailing cash, but its something.

This is a fun one to:

"Any statements against immigration are labeled racist, bigoted, hateful and unChristian. Conservative Church leaders tell their congregations that while immigration policies may be wrong, our Christian faith nevertheless compels us to open up our hearts, our homes, our neighborhoods, and our places of worship to the immigrant.

The reasons Christian conservatives often tout as proof that immigration is not healthy to the nation as a whole are meaningless unless the race issue is factored in.

The reasons most often given are:

1) The new immigrants do not want to learn the English language

2) The new immigrants are an economic burden

3) The new immigrants bring diseases

4) The new immigrants won’t let go of their strange customs

And to summarize the complaints about immigration by conservatives it is generalized into the immigrants unwillingness to assimilate into American society."

Its a site run by the Kkk. And its scary how similar the viewpoints are in comparision to some on these boards.

irrespective of where immigrants originate, their immigration into the US is not a problem ... ILLEGAL immigration IS the problem and it IS a HUGE financial drain

I remember as a little kid, my dad's side of the family were from Lebannon and Syria and they were so proud to be Americans that an American Flag hung in the Entry of their home (my Grandparents) and my grandmother made an American flag in Aremian Lace, with "My Country America", while sitting at Ellis Island waiting to be processed, she made the flag backwards, because she was looking at the back of the flag as it hung in front of her, and that makes it an even more valuable family piece! My grandparents loved this country.....I guess that is not the case anymore!

tey is so sneaky

trying to show us that we are candidates for kkk

1) as said before, it is a matter of ILLEGAL aliens that get the board riled up.

2) as far as the ILLEGAL ones go, i also agree with #1 and #2. as far as disease, i don't know what they may or may not have. but if they do have something wrong, being illegal only means the chances of them seeking and getting help diminish.

as far as strange customs, if they are legal...get after it.

as far as assimilating into American society.....hell, even americans who don't want to fit in suffer social and economic consequences. that's just how it is. that is a moot point.

and tey, how does this post do anything but further solidify the opinion that you think people who are against illegal immigration are by default racist?

Track the accounts. If they are receiving US gov assistance, then that money should stay in the US banks.

cubans are welcomed to the usa, by boat, raft, or life jacket and are able to get government financial aid immediately. they are not supposed to ship american dollars to their relatives in cuba.

haitians are returned as soon as they touch dry land.

the bastards that were involved in 9/11 were here on student passes. they were studying how to fly big airplanes, not how to take off and land, just to fly.

mexicans are returned immediately but many of them get jobs at minimum wages and are paid under the table. nothing is done to the employers.

chinese are returned to their country.

members of congress and the senate have been shown to hire illegal immigrants from many parts of the world. instead of reporting them to the authorities.

we are a strange country with strange rules.

i wonder what china is going to do when unemployed americans who realize there are no jobs in america, row a boat to china and sneak in.

Rick,

Cubans are not welcome anymore. We try to intercept them at sea and send them back. If they make it to shore, they get to stay and until just recently, we encouraged them to flood Cuba with dollars but now it is not allowed.

The rest of your points are valid for now.

When we start flooding China with unemployed Americans, they'll probably build a wall.

Tey,

It might help your argument and clarify your position if you address the following yes/no questions:

Do you think being against illegal immigration into the United States makes a person categorically racist?

Do you think all Caucasians are categorically racist?

Are you racist against all Caucasians?

1: Generally no. Depends on the heart of the person who is against it. Are they truly concerned for the situation or are they just using this to loudly voice a dislike for my people or spics as I'm frequently called.

2: No

3: certainly not
