one idiot mentions $200,000,000. she heard it somewhere. then another idiot repeats it. eventually all the idiots in the same reality world they invented, start quoting each other.

this is because they do not live in a real world. they live in a world like ozzie and harriet. they live in a world that never existed and they discuss their invisible friends with each other.

good luck.

OK. If the 200 mil/day is wrong, what about the 34 warships and 3000 people going with him and renting the WHOLE Taj Mahaal (RFenster I think this was the thumb Mr. Bill was discussing)?

Number are often touted and are incorrect. His FING people said the trip was for the POTUS to experience the "festival of lights". This guy doesn't act presidential. Bush 43 saying on Oprah he would not criticize a sitting POTUS after leaving office is.

Plus you haters are just racists. He has a class reunion at his Madrassa (sp?) in Indonesia to attend.

I had read it might be 47 aircraft carriers, battleships and submarines!

Then I heard on the evening news that the whole thing was just a bunch of bull****, which sounds far more reasonable to me. No vessels at all.

Don't you wonder why stupid anti-Obama rumors and allegations like this go viral? I am sure that none of it has anything at all to do with it all the haters.

Like it or not, he's our President. Like it or not, he is head of state and will travel as necessary. If he didn't, his haters would be all up in arms- just looking for any excuse.

^ Agree Robert. But I would say the media attention to reporting has been lackluster.

If what I read is correct, the false rumor about the cost was started by one single news person in India. Then, other reporters began reporting that is what the reporter said. Ultimately, the truth of the matter came out- once the mor responsible news sources started checking out the rumor's accuracy. Actually, I think it is all kind of funny because the false rumor has some people frothing at the mouth and then when they hear what appears to be a more accurate number and/or the truth of the matter they still froth, just because the President is going on an international trip to several ountries and meetings. I just don't get how some people can allow themselves to get worked up over something they have no control over and which seems so damn benign.

The guy in India that reported it is Keith Olbermann's outsourced replacement. He's still learning the new job.

U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama make a statement after their visit the memorial for the Nov. 26, 2008 terror attack victims at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel in Mumbai, India, Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010.
MUMBAI, India — President Barack Obama says new trade deals between the U.S. and India will support more than 50,000 jobs in the U.S.

He said the relationship between America and India should be a win for both sides _ while acknowledging concerns in America about outsourcing.

Speaking Saturday to American and Indian chief executives on the first day of a 10-day trip through Asia, Obama said the relationship between the U.S. and India "will be one of the defining and indispensable partnerships of the 21st century."

He also announced a host of new trade deals, including aircraft purchases, that the White house says are worth $10 billion and will help support 54,0000 jobs....

Here is some simple math.

1 room at the Taj Hotel is 25,000 IRP a night or about $567.50 a night (that was the cheapest rate).

Lets say the rooms start there and triple for the best. There are 560 rooms.

That makes the figure anywhere from $317,800.00 to $953,400.00 a night (whole hotel booked). It's an expensive trip. Probably 50 mil when all is said and done.

Don't change the subject away from the trip and it's alleged cost, or this will just turn into another political thread, just like several hundred others...
