case and point. why would it be "policy" to harrass citizens? we are all americans whether i come from Windermere or clearwater. an officers job is to serve, assist and protect citizens from REAL criminals. true threats, not someone driving 38 in a 35 or not waiting three seconds at a stop sign. that is beyond unrealistic. not only that, for your average american, especially lower to middle income, that ticket can drastically raise their insurance causing a domino effect on their life. but some of these young cops are brainwashed into believing this nonsense. i couldnt give a ticket to someone for one of the above offenses in my right mind or keep a straight face when they asked me why and i had to say "ma'am, you didnt wait three seconds before proceeding through the stop sign that only 23 people go through all day" get a life.....

on top of all that, why do our cities especially smaller ones have such large forces? and SWAT teams? we are a humble town of 10,000. 25 officers puts us at 1 officer to every 400 people. cities with real crime like LA, new york etc have one officer to every 5000! we wonder why our states and federal government are bankrupt, here is a classic example told hundreds of times over throughout the US.

I didn't say I agree, but it is what it is... Both towns that I mentioned the policies are set by the town government as far as Parkland Fl is concerned where I used to live, they no longer have a town police dept they turned over llaw enforcement to the county and that zero tolarance policy is basically gone. I can say it was popular with the residents as the town police where basically a private police department and kept thing very safe..

Getting s ticket for stoping less than 3 seconds sounds like taking things a bit to far to say the least. I have received tickets on my bike for rediculas reasons in the past from police officers that just didnt like bikes and were basically dicks... Again, it is what it is..... In truth, I have been "let go" for a infraction I have been clearly guilty of way more than given tickets that I shouldn't have been given... Of course the ones I shouldn't have been given get all the conversation! I have also noticed the gray'er my hair has become the less likely I am to be given a ticket. One advantage of age I guess?

Up in the Orlando metro is a town called Windermere, everyone including the residents know traffic laws are strictly enforced ! But the deal is equally enforced!

Really? The Chief of Police was recently arrested interfering and covering up a rape investigations of one of his close friends. As more and more info came out, officers were deleting and failing to issue traffic citations. Now there are allegations of significant financial impropriety and perhaps several officers are going to do serious time in prison.

I get pulled over quit a bit because i work friday and saturday nights and am driving home about the times bars close.
I always ask for the reason for the stop, really not worried because i'm not drunk and my vehicle is in order. They hate
being asked why and i get some stupid reason like you driving on the shoulder or i thought you had a light out. All they
are doing is trolling for cash here, trying to find a drunk or two, something to get revenue. It really sucks but i never get
a ticket, after pullin a 12-14 hr shift i just want to get home. I have made a couple calls to the local LEO's HQ. but
all i get is the runaround and fluff. That cop asking and questioning about his story with the child is a bit much, that may
have got me in trouble. Nothing like being called a liar when your telling the truth.

I was cited for 45 in a 35 a little over a week ago... When the Officer pulled me over, he said that he Lazered me at 47... I saw him sitting there and looked down at the speedo, and it read just under 45 probably 43 MPH... I expressed that though I WAS speeding, my speedo read closer to 43-44 MPH... By him signing the ticket that he wrote for 45 MPH, he is setting himself up for trouble... If were to take it to court, he would either have to lie to the court, or admit that he falsified a document... Either way, he is a liar....

Am I wrong?

Not going to court... At the end of the day, I was speeding... I learned a long time ago to take my lumps and move on... LOL

it is my understanding, they do have to produce their daily calibration sheet and the laser reading from the time you were cited if you fight it in court.
