Just imagine the temptation of being able to borrow an unlimited amount of money at 2.9% interest that someone else will have to pay back later.

What did the founding fathers have to say on the subject?

LOLZ!!!

If our Founding Fathers saw the mess that the progressives have made with their Republic they would've made damn sure to address the "unwritten".

In their world they didn't play word games. They addressed the matter and took care of business. They knew that government's place wasn't to harass free enterprise or endanger personal rights.

If they thought for one second that we'd be operating with a massive debt they would've made sure to put in that there should be no surplus or debt...a clean balance sheet.

Now, with that said...yes we do need a balanced budget amendment. The US government cannot be trusted to do it without one. It is time for the states to force the hand of the Federal oppressor and shackle him down.

Repeal socialism. It failed.

Embrace freedom. Free to succeed, free to fail.

American socialism lite works fine, it just needs more money.
European socialism heavy works just fine, it just needs more money.

They're all dead. They're out of the conversation.

The Democrats and Obama's plan to solve the debt is to borrow another trillion USD every year, did the hole deeper, and getting Americans even more accustomed to government's role in their lives. Once we all agree the government's role in the GDP is correct, then the only solution is to massively raise taxes to pay for the services that we are demanding.

It is kinda like selling cocaine at a discount price until everyone is hooked.

It really is brilliant. You didn't see the Democrats jack up taxes during the two years that they had the White House and Congress even though they could have. What they did is deficit spend even more and give us Obamacare which is the beginning of nationalized healthcare. In another 8 years, people will be demanding their Obamacare just like Medicare and Social Security and the government will have to raise tax revenue to meet our demands.

i'd be willing to go as high as 3.25% for that credit card.

and #36 ( 2fer)

"It is kinda like selling cocaine at a discount price until
everyone is hooked." i read something about that and
the cia.

in 8 years i will be 88 and if i am able to articulate
anything between my colonoscopies, i will demand
obama care and medicare and any other care i can
get and when you have your first by pass surgery
you better have damned good insurance, like medicare.

do you have any idea what it costs to maintain a
complicated piece of machinery like your body? that's
when people decide to trade in their old car and get a
new one,

why do the republicans want to add taxes to the former
or what's left of the middle class, and not burdon the
wealthy beyond all need? i suspect to keep their jobs
and not because they think it's fair or right.

whose their daddy?
