Heard ‘Um Before III

A mixed disc of covers by various artists. Interesting to hear how each artist interprets the songs. As Delta commented earlier, some basically true to the original, others completely reinterpreted.

I love me some jazz saxophone.
One guy I like is not entirely a jazz player but another good saxophonist is Maceo Parker. Funk, soul jazz, and R&B. He was the leader of the Horny Horns playing with James Brown, Funkadelic,, Parliament. Back when I was younger and went out to the bars for music I've seen him a couple times live in some Boston clubs. I think I saw him at the Newport Jazz Fest in Newport Rhode Island.
A couple of my favs from him is
Life on the Planet Groove - a live up beat funky album "2% Jazz, 98% Funky Stuff."

Mo' Roots - studio album that is more relaxed jazz versions of his music.

A mixed disc of songs that remind me of the Progressive Rock FM stations from the late ‘60s to mid ‘70s. Back in those days, you’d put your favorite station on and just groove. Adult beverages and / or other youthful activities may or may not been present. 😗

“Long Cuts II” starts off with the album version of “Heard it Through the Grapevine” by Creedence Clearwater Revival and ends with the epic 17 minutes version of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” by Iron Butterfly.

listening to the car stereo...The Who, My Generation...
thought occurred to me: Daltrey did a lotta stuttering in the song to add to the rebellious theme...tried to think of other songs/artists that used stuttering.
Bachman Turner Overdrive, You Aint Seen Nothing Yet; David Bowie, Changes; George Thorogood, Bad to the Bone...
whatcha got?

The Beatles - a comp disc of some of my favorites from 1963 to 1964.

Beatlemania was so crazy. Our neighbor’s daughters were so in love 😍 with them. For me, as an 8-year old, I didn’t understand the big deal.
