Gene, post #9680...

Your post inspired me to watch a recording of the Eagles at the Forum, 2018. Lineup then was Don Henley, Tim Schmit, Joe Walsh, Vince Gill and Deacon Frey (Glenn's son). Well worth the time!

The Eagles Greatest Hits is one of my fave road trip CD's, and is a main reason I bought a portable plug-in CD player for my car, which as most cars now, came without a CD player

Stanley Clarke - The Bass-ic Collection

Stanley is in my Top 5 all-time favorite bass players. Number 1 goes to the Big Soli in the sky, Iupati Tervola. RIP brother.

U2 - Best of 1980 to 1990

I wasn't a big fan of the band but enjoyed listening to them again.

Out of curiosity, what CD player didja buy? I know, eventually, I’mma gonna hafta get a portable player for whatever new car we buy.

Got a Posspo Jupiter, after doing a little research...it's a little big, especially after mounting it on an Ohlpro cupholder base...but it's been great...just plug and play

It's solid and hasn't skipped or jumped when I've driven over uneven and poorly maintained roads, when I can see it moving in the cupholder...

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town

Can't remember the last time I listened to Bruce, let alone this album in its entirety.

Sting - Fields of Gold - The Best of 1984 to 1994

Could say the same thing about Sting that I just said about Bruce.

Stephen Stills - self-titled debut solo album

This is the only album that has Hendrix and Clapton on it. Jimi died two months before the album was released. I remember getting my vinyl copy from The Record Club of America. Got a whole bunch of albums from them.

Tower of Power - Bump City

“You’re Still a Young Man” is one of my all-time favorites songs.

Santana - Borboletta

I'mma gonna guess I haven't heard the whole album since '74 or, at best, '75. Forgot how good it really is. More in-line with "Welcome" so much more jazz-rock-ish than the group's first 3 releases. Another thing, while listening to the album, today I realized that the tone of Carlos' guitar was different so looked it up and yes, he had switched from the Gibson SG and Les Paul to the L6-S. I'm thinking I didn't notice the change back in the day 'cause I almost exclusively listened to the album in the record store, not at home, thus not being able to hear the tonal differences. (At least that's my story and I'mma sticking to it!)
