Find you a 430 with a 4 barrel carb from an old burick deuce and a quarter, my 1st car, thing would fly top end. Can be geared to pick up on the front end or put in a boat as well, hehe

If you gonna swap out tranny's, may as well do it right and put in a ford 9 in rear-rear end.

Blaspheme, I know.

No no no...
a short tailed turbo 400 with a high stall speed torque converter and a 488 12 bolt chevy differential will do nicely.

But if it's a real drag racer, a two speed powerglide tranny is the way to go,,,

That's why they make a lot of different cars, dude. Somebody thought the Avalanche looked nice... it didn't, IMO.

Pacer? Gremlin? Those were ugly cars. The 66 Impala SS was beautiful.

HD The 383 chevy is a 400 crank and 350trans block. Damn rookies.

Small blocks for cars, Big blocks for trucks. For the money you would spend on a mild big block you could build a SB with more HP and spin higher RPMs.
My 72 Nova has a 355 roller motor and has PLENTY of nuts for street/strip fun.

383 is just a bored out 350. Even a 350 will be enough to force a transmission swap also!

Did someone say stroking????

Ford is better and everyone knows it. Chevys are for people who turn wrenches like a monkey.

Course all you people in flyover country only have straight roads anyways so a crappy car that doesnt turn doesn't matter.

Looks like Wheel has been reading a hot rod mag and feels empowered. You go boyyyyyyyyyy!
