Only way I could think of is if it was solid lifters and not hydraulic lifter and the same could be said about the flat tappet lifters they need adjusted pretty often

Did someone say stroking????

Ford is better and everyone knows it. Chevys are for people who turn wrenches like a monkey.

Course all you people in flyover country only have straight roads anyways so a crappy car that doesnt turn doesn't matter.

Looks like Wheel has been reading a hot rod mag and feels empowered. You go boyyyyyyyyyy!

The only thing Ford did right was to put the distibutor in the front. Try taking a 302 or 351 Ford SB past 6k RPMs...

Screw Chevy. Nothing beats a Ford!

Mopar for me back then, 383's 440 twin 4 brls and 426 Hemis were my world.

(72 Sebring+ with 383 RR engine, slapstick auto for me back then)

A 69 396 Chevelle vs. 383 RR the race went both ways depending on the night. Both were great street cars.

Chevys? 302Z Camaro was a very kool and fast machine, looked as fast as they ran.

I've got a 427 out of a 67 vette under the hood of my Chevelle. It requires constant tuning to keep it running well, but when it's running, look out!

Roller cam, roller lifters, and full roller rockers free up a LOT of horses above 3500 RPMs. Imagine how much less friction there is across 16 lifters/rockers. Not to mention, a roller cam allows a higher lift profile and more duration, more HP..

All the rocker arms do is work between the push rod and the valve not anything directly with the lifter
