When you give people just enough to survive on, for doing nothing, and there is no incentive to do any better, you're breeding welfare recipients. We're at a tipping point. The people that are taking are starting to outnumber the people that are putting in.

I am a fiscal conservative. If you disagree with me for expecting people to be as personally responsible as I am... I don't know what to tell you. I expect my government to be responsible, too. Neither the dems or reps have shown an inclination toward responsibility.

We are forced to buy auto insurance, too. What if you're one of those people who go 25 years and never have an accident? You got screwed. It's a risk not to have it, sure... but a risk we should be given the freedom to take. You can take risks and still be responsible by doing things to mitigate the risk, such as driving safely.
