There are other avenues, but for fun lets say there are not and he is really a patriot just wanting the government to stop snooping on it's own people (something I am absolutely for and was appalled by the bushies use of the patriot act etc since day 1 and continue to be against bush III AKA the Big O). What is the purpose of disclosing to forien countries how we are spying on them? How can anyone condone this?

Many in here were pissy at the press exposing things like abu garib (sp?) yet love this guy because he fits their anti government rhetoric (rhetoric that was muted somewhat when bush was in office (it was anti american to say anything about Bush and their war efforts) but became loud and clear when a prez they hate is in office.


No you shouldn't allow our government officials to spy on us. but that doesn't legitimize what this guy is doing. He is no hero.

You can not pick and choose which laws are ok to break based on your political views. If I disagree with the use of drones in the battle field and I work for one of the companies making the drones or the military and have signed a confidentiality agreement is it ok for me to go to othr countries or to the taliban etc. and provide them with information on how to disable and defeat them or how to make their own?

As for the oath takers breaking laws, maybe they did maybe they didn't. We don't know yet, but when you start accepting your own form of the law and decide the formal law system (the three branches) is soo effed up it's time to take matters in to your own hands, bad ju ju follows because the next guy to decide to do so may not share your values. Timothy McVey beleived he was right.

That being said, one could argue that by going that route everything would have been covered up. By the time his case became public, every time he farted would have been documented and spun against him.

You can't fix a system that doesn't want to be fixed. There are too many people that would be lost to collateral damage.
