And the outrage over him "bringing in the national guard" is over their proposed bad over weapons at the Capitol building because of the expected protesting by gun owners who are wound up and set loose by someone misinforming them....

Got a bit of a chicken and an egg there.

The DNC is certainly not a party I can support, but your first line renders the rest of your opinion moot and not worthy of any logical consideration.

ANYONE that even thinks that the words "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" mean anything than what they are is a fool that doesn't love the Freedom they live under. When you don't have a 2nd Amendment you won't have any of the others. If it can be eroded and neutered so can all of the others because there are no teeth in that "dog".

David, the transfer provision wasn't in the House approved bill. Just sales.
As for what the governor may have said, wanted, dreamed about, etc....I dgaf until there's legislation up for a vote and I can read the actual text. The social media outrage over what something that never gets to floor vote amounts to fake news when facts and context are ignored.
Good thing Trump never asks or suggests crap that never gets near implementing

I mean... they did actually put it in Senate Bill 16. But it was struck. It was a pretty amusingly bad one. Outlawed publicly carrying loaded weapons over 20 rounds, shotguns over 7.... Outlawed non-citizens to have any guns (surprised that one isn't more popular with the nutjob squad here).... redefined "Assault firearm" to basically any semi-automatic pistol or rifle and holds more than 20 rounds or can be (not necessarily is) equipped with a folding stock or silencer...

Lot of nonsense in there. But it died quickly... as it would be expected to.

Really gave someone the opportunity to wind up their puppets and set them loose though

If the Bills are truly dead, then my bad. I can't help but believe these Bills would have passed if not for the outrage of legal Virginia gun owners and the threatened civil disobedience of the sanctuary counties. Still doesn't change the fact that Northum and the new Democrat leadership had every intention to outlaw and confiscate tens of thousands of legal firearms. Just because public outcry may have stopped the tyranny does not make the original intent any less tyrannical.

don't know much about it, just figured they would never get through. felt like one of those red meat moments that get floated out there to stoke a political base or two...... especially knowing the supremes would strike most of it down anyway. it did what it was intended to do.

On a related point, this it want always happens; the govmut says “citizens shouldn’t be able to buy armor piercing bullies at Walmart” and the NRA translates; “they are coming for all your guns and steak knives too - in fact you will no longer be able to eat meat”. And the outrage swells....
