Reality appears to be setting in for Democrats after a recent poll revealed that two-thirds of Democrat-leaning voters don't want President Biden to run in 2024, 82% of whom said they want "just someone besides Joe Biden."

Jones, a former Obama adviser, was asked by co-host Poppy Harlow on "CNN This Morning" about recent comments from former Obama aide Jim Messina, who told Politico Playbook that Democrats worried about recent polls are "**** bedwetters."

"If Jim Messina says that we’re bedwetters, invest in Pampers and Depends because a lot of people are terrified that Joe Biden is in real trouble and that you can’t talk about it," Jones said, adding "So that's what's going on."

That said, Jones did admit that Messina "is right" in that "is right” since “it may, in fact, be true that a year from now things look very different because there’s been a year of a real campaign, and all this kind of stuff."

"But right now, today, I think a lot of Democrats look at these numbers and say the whispers are finally showing up in this data," Jones said of a recent CNN poll in which Biden's approval rating has dropped to just 39% - with voters concerned about his advanced age and declining mental faculties.

Biden Holds Bizarre, Rambling Press Conference in Vietnam



President Joe Biden held a press conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Sunday evening where he appeared confused and rambling, and eventually told the audience he was going to bed.

Biden, 80, made an awkward joke where he called the 1987 anti-Vietnam War movie Good Morning, Vietnam, a “song.”

“One of my staff members said, remember the famous song ‘Good Morning Vietnam’? Well, good evening, Vietnam,” he said to no laughter.

Biden then read remarks from a teleprompter, before saying he would take questions from reporters who were on a list that was given to him.

“They gave me five people here,” Biden said. He first called on a Reuters reporter, and corrected her pronunciation of “sincerity.”

He also used the derogatory term, “the Third World,” before correcting himself to say, “the Global South,” which refers to developing countries.

Biden also went from talking about global warming to a John Wayne movie.

“Did you ever think you’d be sitting at a G-20 conference where everyone was preoccupied with the notion of global warming? Not a joke, did you ever think that?” he said.

He then launched into sharing a scene from a John Wayne movie, where Indians accused Union soldiers of being “lying dog-faced pony soldiers,” and likened them to climate change skeptics.

“Well there’s a lot of lying dog-faced pony soldiers out there about global warming,” he said. “But not anymore. All of a sudden, they’re all realizing it — there’s a problem. And there’s nothing like seeing the light.”

He then went to call on another reporter, but could not find the list of reporters.

“I’m just following my orders here,” he said, as he searched for the list on the podium before him.

When he said, “Staff, is there any one I haven’t spoken to?” and reporters yelled out for questions, he appeared to get irate and shouted, “I ain’t calling on you!”

After taking one more question from Voice of America, he told the reporter, who had asked about his relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping, “Tell you what, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to go to bed.”

He then used the term “Third World” again, before saying, “excuse me, Third World, the, uh, the Southern Hemisphere.”

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre interrupted with, “Thank you everybody. This ends the press conference. Thanks everyone.”

Biden says climate change poses greater threat than nuclear war

HANOI – United States President Joe Biden said the sole threat to humanity’s existence is climate change, and that not even nuclear conflict poses a similar danger.

“The only existential threat humanity faces, even things more frightening than a nuclear war, is global warming,” Mr Biden said on Sunday during a news conference in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The President added that “we’re going to be in real trouble” if, in the next decade or two, warming goes above the 1.5 deg C temperature increase that scientists consider a tipping point for increasing the chances of extreme weather events.

“There’s no way back from that,” Mr Biden continued. “And so there’s a lot we can do in the meantime.”

Mr Biden spoke following the Group of 20 summit in India, where leaders agreed to a series of climate actions, including a pledge to triple renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade.

The President’s attention in 2023 has been consumed at times by weather and climate disasters, including deadly wildfires in Maui.

The US has suffered more than a dozen billion-dollar severe weather events in 2023, according to the US National Centres for Environmental Information.

White House Condemns Biden Impeachment Inquiry as Extreme, Unwarranted



The White House condemned the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as “extreme” and unwarranted on Tuesday.

“House Republicans have been investigating the President for 9 months, and they’ve turned up no evidence of wrongdoing,” White House spokesman Ian Sams posted on X. “His own GOP members have said so.”

Speaking in the U.S. Capitol Building, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy opened the inquiry on Tuesday by stating that House Republicans uncovered “serious and credible allegations” against President Biden of “abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption.”

Sams claimed the inquiry is “extreme politics at its worst,” and suggested McCarthy should hold a House vote to launch the inquiry, even though former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did not do so during her impeachment proceedings of former President Donald Trump.

“He vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip flopped because he doesn’t have support,” Sams said.

Depending on the inquiry’s finding, a full House vote could occur on articles of impeachment. If approved by 218 votes in the House, the articles would be conveyed to the Senate, where the higher chamber would be forced to hear the evidence during a Senate trial.

McCarthy said House investigators found that Joe Biden lied about his involvement in the family business and that bank records show many payments were directed to Biden family members through shell companies. He also noted an FBI informant file that alleged Joe Biden was bribed by a Ukrainian energy executive.

“Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption,” he said. “These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption. They warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives.”

“That’s why today, I am directing our house committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” he continued. “This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public. It’s exactly what we want to know: the answers.”

“I believe the President would want to answer these questions and allegations as well,” McCarthy added. “I would encourage the President and his team to fully cooperate with this investigation in the interests of transparency.”

Polling appears to necessitate the need for an impeachment inquiry. Sixty-one percent of Americans believe Joe Biden was involved in his family’s business deals with China and Ukraine, according to a recent CNN poll. Only 38 percent say he was not involved, and just one percent say he was involved and did nothing wrong.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday lashed out at Speaker McCarthy and accused him of spearheading a “witch hunt” for announcing an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden.

Speaker McCarthy on Tuesday announced he is directing House committees to open an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden.

McCarthy scrambled to make a bold move as Congressman Matt Gaetz threatened to remove him as House Speaker.

“I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Over the past several months, House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct—a culture of corruption,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy continued, “Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partners about Hunter’s role in Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company. Finally, despite these serious allegations, it appears that the President’s family has been offered special treatment by Biden’s own administration–treatment that not otherwise would have received that they were not related to the President.

Schumer isn’t too happy now that the shoe is on the other foot.

The New York Democrat was quick to convict Trump during Pelosi’s slap-dash impeachment of Trump but now he’s crying like a baby.

“I think the impeachment inquiry is absurd. The American people want us to do something that will make their lives better, not go off on these chases and, uh, witch hunts,” Schumer said.

Reports: Biden Gives Iran $6 Billion in Unfrozen Assets Plus Prisoners for Five Jailed Americans



The Biden administration on Thursday reportedly struck a deal with Iran to unfreeze $6 billion in Iranian financial assets and release a “handful” of Iranian nationals jailed for violating U.S. sanctions in exchange for five Americans taken prisoner by Iran on highly dubious charges of espionage.

The Iranian mission to the United Nations on Thursday said, “Iran’s frozen funds in South Korea will be unblocked and transferred to Qatar,” apparently referring to the $6 billion sum. U.S. sources who spoke to the far-left New York Times publication and Reuters confirmed the financial aspects of the deal.

The Times‘ sources identified the five American prisoners as Siamak Namazi, Emad Sharghi, and Morad Tahbaz, plus two others the Biden administration did not immediately name. The two other prisoners are reportedly a “scientist” and a “businessman.” One of those two individuals was arrested by Iran in March, stalling the deal to release the others until Iran agreed to include the new detainee as well.

The best-known of the named three is Siamak Namazi, 51, arrested in October 2015 while he was visiting family in Tehran. Namazi was a supporter of the Iranian regime and advocate of closer U.S.-Iran relations who might have fallen victim to a power struggle between secular and theocratic factions within the government.

Siamak Namazi’s elderly father Baquer was also held captive by Iran and was released in October 2022, after seven years in prison, for health reasons. Both Namazis were convicted of “collaborating with a hostile power,” namely the United States, in a secret 2016 “trial.”

In July 2022, Namazi wrote a NYT op-ed from prison entitled “I’m An American, Why Have I Been Left to Rot as a Hostage of Iran?” He said he felt compelled to write the piece because “the Biden administration’s approach to rescuing Americans in distress in Iran has failed spectacularly so far.”

“The ugly reality is that Iran will free its captives only if offered sufficient incentives,” Namazi said, a prediction that would seem to have been proven accurate by the gigantic payoff Iran was ultimately given to secure his release.

In fact, Namazi in July 2022 described an Iranian proposal that seemed fairly close to what the Biden administration agreed to just over a year later. He accused President Joe Biden of dragging his feet on sealing the deal because he wanted to use the frozen Iranian assets as leverage to restart nuclear deal talks.

Siamak Namazi mentioned Morad Tahbaz and Emad Shargi in his editorial, in addition to his then-imprisoned father Baquer. Tahbaz, 67, is a British-American conservationist with Iranian roots arrested during a regime crackdown on environmental activists in 2018. He was sentenced to ten years in prison on espionage charges, briefly released to house arrest in 2022, and then marched back into prison.

“I think being told since Biden has taken office that our loved ones are a priority, and then seeing no action — it is hard to hold hope,” Morad’s daughter Tara Tahbaz said in April 2023. She said her father was suffering from prostate cancer and contracted Wuhan coronavirus three times while in prison.

Emad Shargi, 58, was arrested in April 2018 for no clear reason after he and his wife Bahareh decided to move to Tehran, their childhood home. The Iranian government later claimed Emad was convicted in absentia on murky espionage charges.

Bahareh was released, but her husband was imprisoned until December 2018. The Iranian regime kept his passport, so she was obliged to return to the United States without him. Emad was arrested again in November 2020 and held until now.

None of the five American prisoners has actually been released yet at press time – they were merely transferred from the hideous Evin prison to house arrest.

“While this is an encouraging step, these U.S. citizens — Siamak Namazi, Morad Tahbaz, Emad Shargi, and two Americans who at this time wish to remain private — should have never been detained in the first place,” said National Security Council (NSC) spokeswoman Adrienne Watson.

“We will continue to monitor their condition as closely as possible. Of course, we will not rest until they are all back home in the United States. Until that time, negotiations for their eventual release remain ongoing and are delicate. We will, therefore, have little in the way of details to provide about the state of their house arrest or about our efforts to secure their freedom,” Watson said.

Fox News on Thursday quoted “a source familiar with the situation” who said, “We expect this process to take weeks before they return home to the U.S.”

“While I hope this will be the first step to their ultimate release, this is at best the beginning of the end and nothing more. But there are simply no guarantees about what happens from here,” lawyer Jared Genser said.

The prisoner swap deal was reportedly mediated by Oman, Qatar, and Switzerland. The ransom payment will take the form of about $6 billion in Iranian oil revenue that has been frozen in South Korean banks ever since former President Donald Trump withdrew from the Iranian nuclear deal in 2018. Iran accused South Korea of taking delivery of Iranian oil but refusing to pay for it.

According to Iranian state media reports, the money from South Korea will be transferred to an account in the central bank of Qatar. The funds will purportedly be managed by the Qatari government, which will allow Iran to make withdrawals only to pay for “humanitarian purchases.” The American hostages will not be allowed to leave Iran until the funds transfer to Qatar is complete, which could take four to six weeks.

“The release of the Iranian funds is likely to be contentious in the United States. Republicans have repeatedly condemned the idea of allowing Iran to have direct access to its frozen financial assets, which could end up in the hands of its elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, and be used to fund and arm militants across the Middle East,” the NYT observed.

The Associated Press (AP) had some theories about the Iranians imprisoned in the U.S. for violating sanctions who might be released as part of the deal:

American officials declined to comment on who or how many Iranian prisoners might be released in a final agreement. But Iranian media in the past identified several prisoners with cases tied to violations of US export laws and restrictions on doing business with Iran.

The alleged violations include the transfer of money through Venezuela and sales of dual-use equipment that the US alleges could be used in Iran’s military and nuclear programs. Iran has been enriching uranium and stockpiling it as part of its advancing nuclear program.

The AP noted the deal comes at a moment of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, which has recently discussed stationing American troops on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to prevent Iran from seizing them. Several sources reported the prisoner swap could be an overture for the Biden administration to resume stalled nuclear negotiations with Iran.

Iran's president says it will spend $6bn US prisoner swap funds 'wherever we need it'


Iran's president has said his government will decide how it will spend $6bn (£4.8bn) released by the United States under a prisoner exchange deal.

The US has issued a sanctions waiver for international banks to transfer the billions in frozen Iranian funds - paving the way for the release of a British national and four Americans held in Iran.

The assets will be transferred from South Korea to Qatar, which Iran will then be able to use for buying humanitarian goods.

But in an exclusive interview with NBC News, Sky's US partner network, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said: "This money belongs to the Islamic Republic of Iran and naturally we will decide, the Islamic Republic of Iran, will decide to spend wherever we need it."

Asked by NBC News presenter Lester Holt, in Tehran, if the money will be used for more than humanitarian purposes, Mr Raisi replied: "Humanitarian means whatever the Iranian people need.

"This money will be budgeted for those needs and the needs of the Iranian people will be decided and determined by the Iranian government."

US secretary of state Antony Blinken signed off on the deal last week, but Congress was only informed on Monday.

Four of those held in Iran were released from prison and placed under house arrest last month, according to US officials.

The US-Iranian dual nationals include businessmen Siamak Namazi, 51, and Emad Shargi, 58, as well as environmentalist Morad Tahbaz, 67, who has British citizenship.

They had all been jailed at the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran on spying charges.

The identity of the fourth US citizen allowed out of prison has not been made public, while a fifth man was already under house arrest.

The agreement also includes the release of five unnamed Iranian citizens held in the US.

Asked by Holt when the Americans will be released, Mr Raisi said: "The arrangements have been done.

"The final action of swapping the prisoners should be finalised in due time."

Asked if they were in good health, he replied: "Yes, they are very healthy and according to our latest information, they are in full health."

The deal has been criticised by Republicans, with senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas accusing President Joe Biden's administration of "paying ransom to the world's worst state sponsor of terrorism".

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa said it was "ridiculous... to be blackmailed".

The families of the Americans held in Iran said their loved ones are "hostages" taken captive on false charges and used as bargaining chips by the government.

Namazi, who in 2016 was convicted of espionage-related charges the US has rejected as baseless, has been detained by Iran for more than seven years.

Tahbaz was arrested in 2018 and sentenced to 10 years in prison for "assembly and collusion against Iran's national security" and working for the US as a spy.

Shargi was convicted of espionage in 2020 and also sentenced to 10 years in prison.

This is Joe Biden’s first public appearance since his son Hunter was indicted on federal gun charges.

As usual, Biden’s speech was full of lies.

“America has the strongest economy in the world of all major economics! But all they do is attack it!” Biden said as Americans suffer under crushing inflation and low wages.

“I’m gonna get those gas prices down again, I promise ya!” Biden said as he falsely claimed he “kept that promise” that “no one making under $400,000 will see their federal taxes go up a single penny.”

President Biden, who has never taught a single semester-long course at the University of Pennsylvania, mused on Thursday about when he used to “teach political theory” at the Ivy League school.

“Our democracy is under attack, and we got to fight for it,” Biden, 80, said during a speech at Maryland’s Prince George’s Community College.

“I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory. And folks, you always hear, every generation has to fight for democracy.”

Biden was an honorary professor at the Philadelphia school, serving as the Benjamin Franklin presidential professor of the practice from February 2017 to April 2019, between his term in the White House as vice president and the start of his presidential campaign.

But his responsibilities never included teaching semester-long classes, conducting independent research, and handling administrative responsibilities — typical duties of professors.

Biden made a dozen or so public appearances on campus but never taught a regular class, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

President Joe Biden Calls LL Cool J ‘Boy’ at Congressional Black Caucus Event



President Joe Biden (D) is getting flak for mispronouncing LL Cool J’s name and using a derogatory term when speaking of the rapper at an awards dinner on Saturday in Washington, DC.

Biden’s comments came during a speech at the Congressional Black Caucus event where LL Cool J and MC Lyte were given Phoenix Awards, according to the New York Post.

“Two of the great artists of our time representing the groundbreaking legacy of hip hop in America, LL Jay Cool J, uhhh…” he stated, video footage of the moment shows.

The audience is heard laughing as Biden paused, then continued, “By the way that boy’s got — that man’s got biceps bigger than my thighs.”

On Thursday, Biden mistakenly praised the Congressional Black Caucus while delivering remarks at a gala for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in the capital, Breitbart News reported Friday:

Biden made the mistake while harping on award recipient Sister Norma Pimental, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.

“I know Sister Norma lives the lessons nuns taught me growing up. Lessons based on the Gospel of Matthew: feed the hungry, care for the sick, welcome strangers,” Biden stated.

“They echo what my dad taught me, and I mean this sincerely; my dad used to say, ‘Everyone, everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect.’ The Congressional Black Caucus embodies all those values,” Biden said, identifying the wrong group completely.

A recent CNN poll found almost half of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents are worried about Biden’s age, according to Breitbart News.

Most are concerned about the fact he is 80 years old affects his physical and mental competence, the outlet said.

Those plants will most likely be built in traditional non-union states or in plants that won't be able to unionize! So, go for that 32 hr work week. Go for that 40% pay increase.
