So far this season on Lake Winnebago, one single rescue and recovery company has pulled out 35 trucks after they fell through the ice.

Northeastern Wisconsin- where ice fisherman live in $25,000 trailer homes so they can afford $75,000 trucks only to sink them.

Reminds me, somewhat, of people here. Couples with kids driving their big azz tricked out trucks / SUVs but live with their parents or in-laws. 🤦

It's universal, driving across Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina on secondary roads you'll see endless examples. They are typically rich people too, they have everything they have ever bought or found laying around that trailer. with a huge SuperDuty Ford/Chevrolet/Ram equivalent parked out front.

In other candy news, he creation of Reeves Cups was inadvertently caused by Hersheys chocolate.

There was a point where Hersheys wanted control of the whole process, so they bought some dairy farms. They hired H.B. Reese as one of their farm managers. Pretty soon, they figured out owning the farms cost too much so sold them, leaving Rees unemployed. So, he started making candy in his basement. Skipping over a few steps, about 35yrs later Herseys bought Reeses for $23.5 million. A little more than $2b in current value

Alaska is also technically the easternmost state because its Aleutian Islands extend into the Eastern Hemisphere. The 180th meridian, which divides the eastern and western hemispheres, passes through the Aleutian Islands.

I love geography and cartography.

In the Aleutian Islands, Attu Island and Semisopochnoi Island are located in the Eastern Hemisphere, as they lie west of the 180th meridian. However, neither of these islands currently has a permanent population. Attu Island, once inhabited, became uninhabited in 2010 following the closure of a Coast Guard station

The exact opposite point on the globe from one place is called its Antipode.

Example: The Antipode of Green Bay, Wisconsin is in the Indian Ocean, southeast of Madagascar and west of Australia—nowhere near a major landmass. The closest significant land would be a remote part of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, a group of islands controlled by France.

most peeps believe the southern most point in the USA is in Key West, Florida...

in reality, that distinction belongs to Ka Lae on the Big Island of Hawaii, which is also the south-southwesternmost point of the USA

Colonoscopies.

When you have one and they say you are good, unless they missed something, it is with 95% confidence.

If you choose the quicker and easier Colorguard, 💩-in-a-box-and-send method, the results are at 70%.

A few years back my Dr said it's time to get my colon inspected. Yikes! I get it, preventive maintenance and stuff. My family doesn't have a history of colon issues so I did the easy thing... I chose not to do the probe it so my Dr set me up with a Colorguard kit. I did it with negative results.

It's time to do another (I think they want one ever 3 or 5 years?) I have another kit that he ordered for me this year and it's sitting in my bedroom. I guess I should do the $hit test and mail the samples in..

Interesting enough, Cologuard is based in Madison, Wisconsin.

Let me get this straight. I $hit in a bucket and mail the samples back to where I went to college on your dime? That kinda hits the funny bone.

Thinking outside the box. There's probably some old crap samples of mine on the shores of Lake Mendota from a drunken stumble from a bar to my apartment back in my college years. It could save Colorguard a few bucks on shipping costs.

Friction from earth's tides dragging against its rotation is gradually slowing that rotation. Two billion years ago, a day on earth lasted nineteen hours. The length of a day increases around .000015 seconds per year.

Reading that just made your day seem longer. 😇
