Docter rejoins his patient in the exam room. Doc sits down, hands on his thighs, and looks up at the patient.

Doc: I've got good news, and I have bad news. What do you want to hear first?

Patient: (sitting nervously) I guess the bad news.

Doc: You've got 3 months to live.

Patient: 3 Months?! I can't beleive it! Wait (looking up at the doc). You said there is good news.

Doc: Well. In two weeks I'll be in Costa Rica on vacation with a beautiful woman and she has a body that won't quit!

How much walking are they encouraging?
I'd imagine they want you to ramp up.

Was the stitches out your wife's gift to you for your anny?

Some people, when they stop taking rat poison, begin to look and feel better.

Sure, it is at the expense of thickening blood going through the heart.

Just came in here to see how it was feeling!

How long were you non-weight bearing?

A friend of mine who was stuck in a boot for a while said there is a thing you can buy on amazon that straps onto the bottom your regular shoe on the non-boot side to get your feet level so your back doesn't get all out of whack from the boot.

Just got back from my retina specialist. No new issues. Had 9 tears in my left eye that were lasered back in Oct/Nov. I'm now on a six month regiment for seeing the specialist.

Had tears in my right eye ten years ago that damaged my eye so that it is not correctable to 20/20 anymore, at least my left eye is still correctable.

Doc said I don't have to wear the boot anymore. Back is feeling better already. Still in some pain but not all the time. Still have pain pills if needed.
I asked the doctor about the peg-leg type of crutch thing. He didn't recommend it because people have fallen and broke hips or lateral breaks to the femur. I never tried it... 😟

Glad you are out of the boot, and yeah, that oeg leg thing looked cool but I don't know if I would be coordinated enough for it.

Retina tears, it's when the vitreous jelly pulls away and tears the retina lining. This could lead to a retina detachment which can lead to blindness.

It's called getting old.

I could not imagine using that peg leg thing, it's got to hard on the knee. Glad the boot is off, anything that makes you change your walking gate is bound to eventually piss off your back. 😰

Knee scooters are very tip prone and if you have flooring height changes or carpet I’d stay away unless it’s for away from the home. For some reason Ortho’s have a raging clue for them, and I understand why they hate crutches but people used them for a long time. Keep healing up Drafter!

Learned last night of a beverage get together with people from my old company (one of my three bosses, and the second biggest pain's in my arse) is ill. Didn't like her, however, never wished ill on her.

Learned last night, she has stage 4 ovarian cancer.

Her husband is a disabled alcoholic. Her son has a drug addiction and bounces in and out of rehab, jail and their home.

Prayers for her and family. Can't imagine the level of pain they are all going through.

Good on you.

You just never know. In the last year of working I was helping an engineer that was stunningly hostile, he despised the application I supported. I actually thought he might take a swing. I was never one to tolerate assholes at work, I knew his complaints were not factual and refused to react. I "killed him with kindness", explaining how our group could help him and eliminate his headaches. We could automate a lot of drudgery for engineers using the system. It was a waste of engining manpower to not be doing engineering. He slowly calmed down and we I left on good terms. As I was leaving his manager called me int their office to ask how it went. I knew his manager and explained how it started vs how the meeting ended. The manager then explained his wife had recently left him for a woman and their only son was a serious and violent felon, you just never know.
