I presume Mayor Michelle Wu identifies as an Elected of Color. đŸ€”
I wonder if they have a sign outside of their segregated Electeds of Color Holiday Party stating:

ELECTEDS OF COLOR ONLY
NO WHITES ALLOWED

Far-Left Boston Mayor Invites Only “Electeds of Color” to Holiday Party – Office Then Claims Email was ‘Mistakenly’ Sent to All

Far-left Boston Mayor Michelle Wu invited only “electeds of color” to a holiday party, according to an email sent by a staffer.

A Wu admin official then claimed the email was ‘mistakenly’ sent out to all Boston city councilors after backlash.

If she were white and excluded ANYONE, it would be headlines for days until she was forced to resign... and the whole country knows it.

Pretty much 🐎 đŸ’© as far as I’m concerned. On the one hand those on the left pi$$ and moan about being discriminated against, yet they chose to segregate themselves which is part and parcel a function of discrimination then can’t understand the circumstances they have created.

Ya, I heard on the news today that Wu discriminates against Italian Americans and Irish Catholics.
Defund the police and likes reparations too.

Michelle Wu, Blasted for No-Whites-Allowed Holiday Party, Has Long History of Radical Racial Activism

Her racially segregated party was not the first time she has been overtly dismissive of white people.

by Ellie Gardey

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu remains unapologetic for her decision to host a holiday party on Wednesday at which only “electeds of color” were welcome.

“I am honored to be a part of this group,” she told the media outside Parkman House, the city-owned building where the party was held. “It is a long-standing affinity group that has grown in recent years here in Boston, Massachusetts.”

Wu’s only admission of fault for the racially segregated party was for the fact that her aide, Denise DosSantos, unintentionally invited white members of Boston’s City Council to the party before subsequently uninviting them on account of their race. “It was one of those emails that we’ve all sent at one point or another,” Wu said, smiling.

Frank Baker, a member of city council who was excluded from the party because he is white, voiced his displeasure with Wu’s party. “I do find it divisive, but what are you going to do about it. You don’t want me at a party, I’m not going to come to a party,” Baker told WHDH.

Wu’s failure to recognize the inherent problem with a holiday party that specially excludes people of a certain race is completely in line with how she usually conducts herself. She has long been a radical racial activist who employs the divisive framework that categorizes people as either “oppressors” or “oppressed.”

After the death of George Floyd, Wu, at the time a member of Boston’s City Council and a mayoral candidate, undertook a mission to “demilitarize” the city’s police force in the name of racial justice. This involved taking away the police department’s means of using force. On her mayoral campaign website, Wu stated: “It is all too clear that our city’s public safety structures have not kept all of us safe, particularly our Black residents. We must take concrete steps to dismantle racism in law enforcement by demilitarizing the police, banning weapons like tear gas and rubber bullets and practices like no-knock warrants that endanger our residents of color.” She later asserted, “We don’t need that equipment; we need resources for community-building & peace.”

well, as much as I enjoy outrage and spinning heads...HA!

I'm not a resident of the City of Boston, but I'm close enough to want to know what this really was about. Like most people, the headline grabbed my attention.

Apparently this has been an ongoing event for several years intended to celebrate the strides made in local government(s) of people of color/minorities and has grown in size...but it is not a Mayor Wu invention. It was simply her year to host as it is held on some kind of rotating set up. Sorry to report that "kill whitey" is not on the menu.

It's (supposedly) not funded by taxpayer money.

I dunno, I wasn't invited either. But it's hardly a hate crime...more of a gathering of a group of individuals with a story in common celebrating that they have broken through the barriers and are actually participating in the System...maybe more of a "club" in tribute to new found success in America?

I'm glad you enjoy the outrage Frank.

I've enjoyed the word salad coming out of Wu's mouth trying to explain away the unfortunate e-mail that was mistakenly sent to whitey electeds.
I've heard this segregated "holiday party" has been going on for 10 years or more, but this is the first time a mistake in invitations was made apparently.

As far as the party not being funded by taxpayer money (supposedly), I have serious doubts whenever electeds are involved. If not, who's paying?

Wu has stated there would be other nonsegregated holiday parties where city officials of all races would gather together, so clearly the so-called “electeds of color” holiday party is meant to be a non-inclusive political "club" event under the guise of a "holiday party".
This LEFTY-PROGRESSIVE mayor pretends to be a model of inclusiveness, while at the same time defends the practice of providing niches that exclude white people and even has defended her policies that discriminate against white people.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu shows off photo from ‘electeds of color’ holiday party after defending gathering: ‘A special moment’

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu proudly shared a photo of the controversial “electeds of color” holiday party she hosted on Wednesday, showcasing all the smiling government officials of minority backgrounds at the “no whites” gathering.

“Last night was my turn to host the annual holiday dinner for Boston’s elected officials of color—a special moment to appreciate that our affinity group now includes leadership across city, state, county, and federal offices,” Wu wrote in a caption alongside the photo on Instagram.

Wu, 38, came under fire earlier this week when her director of City Council Relations Denise DosSantos emailed the party’s exclusive invitation to all members of the City Council instead of only the “electeds of color.”

Boston’s City Council is comprised of six minority and seven white members, who were not the intended targets of the email.

The aide realized her mistake approximately fifteen minutes after the message and sent a follow-up email to the white council members who received the invitation by mistake.

“I wanted to apologize for my previous email regarding a Holiday Party for tomorrow,” DosSantos wrote in her follow-up. “I did send that to everyone by accident, and I apologize if my email may have offended or came across as so. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.”

One of the councilors who was uninvited didn’t seem to mind the awkward emails, saying he doesn’t easily offend.

“I don’t really get offended too easily,” Baker, a white Democrat, told the Boston Herald. “To offend me, you’re going to have to do much more than not invite me to a party.”

“I find it unfortunate that with the temperature the way it is, that we would further that division,” he added.

Is there an Italian-American Electeds Club in Boston? đŸ€” They would be white, so she would prolly find a way to discriminate against them like she did with Italian-American North End restaurant owners by levying a $7,500 fee for outdoor dining permits only in their neighborhood last year.

And another thing..."meh" is not an argument.

second, I'm not arguing.

first, she was probably wrong to charge so much for the permits to allow sidewalk/parking space dining areas in the famous heavily Italian North End neighborhood...you and I can easily think that, but the residents hated the havoc of getting around the neighborhood and really didn't want it allowed again (it actually was a carry over from the covid protocols when outdoor dining was necessary for survival of these businesses).

It may no longer be true, but historically the North End of Boston was one of if not the most congested, densely populated neighborhoods (of a very old, narrow, curvy street city of Boston) in the nation.. If you've never been there, it would blow your mind how any vehicles or any people could possibly navigate that area...but it's a beloved old Boston neighborhood, draws tons of tourists, Paul Revere's House is there, and the food...WOW!

and third, I forgot.

oh yeah, I remembered.
The cost to the city for cleaning up the mess in an area that really wasn't built to accommodate the tons of trash and rat promoting garbage was much higher than in more spacious areas of the city...basically the overhead for sanitation purposes was way over the top for this little enclave. Cost of doing business.

and the residents hated it. I think that's important to understand.

But if it fits your agenda to prove her a racist, I support your right to free dumb speech.

I just can't get worked up on this one.

It's a private party of people who have broken down doors in a desire to serve as many Americans had done for decades/centuries while their ancestors were specifically excluded.

If they had an agenda to conspire against and harm the white race, then I could see the comparison to the KKK.

That's why I made the joke about her banning the Italo-American private club, who also hopes to promote the good done for America by people of Italian heritage without having to hold down others.

It's one a million things that on the surface prove points in the minds of some but maybe not so much when more is known.

But Gene is right about the op...it's a bad look at a bad time.
