The Contract With America that passed all but one item...Term Limits. That would eliminate the Legislative Branch chokehold. You only have say 2 terms as a Senator and 5-6 as a Congressman. Move up or out. While we're talking about term limits, they shouldn't be allowed to ever be a part or a lobbyist. EVER. OK
Legislation should be a single bill. NO RIDERS. If your bill cannot withstand an up/down vote and you lack the sincerity to put it up then it shouldn't be allowed to ride on another bill. Yes.
No Executive Orders. If the President wants to have something passed, push it through the House with support from them. Got to have some flexibility on this one.
Strip away all retirement pay and benefits from them. Politics is NOT a career job. Never was, and never should've been. While they serve they can eat in the cafeteria, sleep in their offices and they can use the VA for healthcare they push on our troops. Rip away the "recesses". They were designed for when AC wasn't invented and crops needed to planted or harvested. I don't agree with removing retirement benefits because only the most well off can go, say 12 years, without continuing to contribute to their retirement. That will limit the pool of candidates.
Any military action, skirmish, or conflict should be banned and a formal Declaration of War from Congress is needed. No more Executive Branch overreach or 90 day emergency bull****. 90 days and no extensions without Congress.
It appears that neither party is willing to take on any of the above because it favors their selfish interests. Barring going the Convention of States or revolution route...I don't see them doing it. Its up to us to MAKE them do it.Everyone eligible should Vote!
