Lets, be clear, Zelensky threatened the USA:

Zelensky, noting that for now, "...the U.S. is separated from the fighting by an ocean, said of the war, "You don't feel it now, but you'll feel it in the future..."

NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER!

I was never more proud than the way the President and Vice President took his crap and shuffled him on out the door.

Sec. of State Rubio has securities with Ukraine to use USAID money to rebuild their electrical grid. GONE

President Trump was going to enter a new negotiation for weaponry. GONE. There's talk of even halting the shipment of what Biden had promised.

Its looking more and more that the US isn't going to work with this little tyrant anymore. Good. Hopefully Ukraine can have free and open elections and send the next President here. Zelensky's term has expired and he doesn't want peace. He wants WWIII. He set all of this up.

I think we all know that if Ukraine falls to Russia it will only be a matter of months before Russian troops invade New York City.

2. So what is the end game? No matter how many weapons we ship to Ukraine, not to mention all the taxpayer dollars, will Ukraine ever be able to win against Russia. The little dictator wants into NATO assuming the good old USA will fight to defend Ukraine right into WWIII including nuclear weapons.

Seriously Gene, I didn't hear it as a threat in live time. It felt more like "heads up", or a reminder of why we must always be vigilant against the likes of Putin, Hitler, etc. Sounded like he was saying remember Neville Chamberlain...updated to "give him Ukraine to satiate his desire" only to learn...too late... his appetite is insatiable.

I read it. It's an opinion I can read here in a number of threads.

Despite the likelihood that we share the conviction that the war needs to end, I guess where we disagree is:

1) as the smaller victim, you'd sign an agreement giving the invader what they want without any promise of security for your people, and I wouldn't.
and
2) you believe Putin would be honorable, and I don't.

I don't hate you for that. I just believe your trust in men like Putin is misguided, hence my Chamberlain reference.
The world has been here before, most of Europe has deeper memories of this type of aggression though.

Hoping the news cycle begins an upturn before more destruction occurs.

I don't advocate war at all. NOBODY "wins". People die.

1 - Ukraine has a long history of "poking the bear". Stop using me, because I would never allow it to get to the point it's at right now if I was involved. Promising "security" is a fallacy. Reminds me of something in "Tommy Boy" where you'd rather take the butcher's word for it. Speaking of butcher, I've NEVER said he's an honorable man. He is a KGB straight up stone cold killer. And he has. I regard him as one of the smartest leaders running a nation on the globe today. If he wanted to he could've eliminated Ukraine in a matter of weeks. Instead he went to a long protracted ground war because as I believe he wants to bleed them slowly and drain their desire to fight and do his bidding from within for him.

2 - Once again, I don't trust him. He's an avowed USSR communist. I view the democrat party as a wing of the communist party. They have provided cover for each other and scrubbed each other's backs. It wasn't a Republican administration during Bay of Pigs. It wasn't a Republican administration that entered Vietnam. It wasn't a Republican administration that sold Russia uranium! Commies suck. Every round I had to squeeze off in basic training we had to yell out "Kill a Commie for Mommy". That should tell you a bit more about me. I do believe Putin could negotiate for a peace until Ukraine decides to shoot up an airport or drone strike a nuclear graveyard. He's already on record that he will not have a NATO member as a neighbor. He's also on record that he will not negotiate with Zelensky because his term is over and he's not allowing free and open elections. This is something that Trump knows as well. Zelensky has to go. After the USSR fall I thought there was a moment where Putin wanted to put the "band back together", but with Ukraine there are oblasts that actually speak Russian and believe they're Russian. Putin has used this as a jumbled justification to get what he wants. As for Ukraine, they're weak. If it wasn't for our weaponry they wouldn't have lasted the 2 weeks to roll the entire nation over. The people fought valiantly, but they forgot they were entering a meat grinder and they were the meat.

Europe has waged war so much that they actually like it. I believe Man has evolved but here we are again. To think we're ever going to have some planetary "federation"Like "Star Trek" is a laughable joke. All Zelensky wants is our money and our national treasure on his battleground that he created. Doesn't work that way. Now that Putin has soldiers on the ground in Ukraine it's safe to say the ground held he's keeping. That's the spoils of War. To think he's going back to the old drawn border is laughable.

For there to be any upturn in a news cycle with positive results Zelensky has to set up free and open elections. He cannot do that until there's a ceasefire. Now you see why that little stunt he played Friday was a waste of time and revealing. He doesn't want peace. He wants this to go on into WWIII. That mineral rights agreement would've given him room to breathe and put US companies on the ground. That would be his "buffer" and I believe Putin wouldn't be so quick to action with US corporations and citizens on the ground. This is why him meeting with democrats beforehand is telling. He's already aligned with them because they've never said "NO!" to him. Plus, their bidding is to muck up the one thing Trump is the true master at...Negotiations. He wasn't going to degrade a meet and greet photo op into a he said/she said name calling debacle. I'm glad it all went down the way it did on camera. Unfortunately most Americans have only seen the last 10 minute where nobody looks good and it was all over but the shouting. Even if that little tyrant comes a crawling with his tail between his legs...he has to go. NOBODY is going to sign a peace treaty with a dictator.

some, yes. some no, just too much for me to reply to thought by thought, sorry.

But a couple corrections are valid here.

1) Though it wasn't until early in the Johnson (D) administration that we "openly" engaged in direct combat, we had been in Viet Nam for nearly a decade due to Eisenhower (R) who first sent "advisors" there. He was determined to stop that domino thing and invested heavily in trying to create the fairly new country South Viet Nam as an example of how our system shines for the world to see in Southeast Asia. Lotta money too, for those times.

2) The Bay of Pigs Invasion fiasco was choreographed by (again) Eisenhower (R), and as his administration gave way to Kennedy's, there was an agreement to move forth as planned...such was the concerns of Communism spreading by both sides of the aisle in those days. Most people alive then had memory of WWII and absolutely the recent Korean "Police Action" or whatever we called it then...I was just a toddler..

Fortunately, Kennedy (D) acted as a true leader and, knowing his adversary Krushchev was not really into the confrontation, got him to back off.

I included the (R) and (D) cuz I have a sense of humor, and also to illustrate how silly and divisive it can be to try to assign all blame to either of the major parties, especially considering how each changes over decades. It makes open debating untenable...I think that's the word I want.

But what stood out for me the most was your conclusion:

"NOBODY is going to sign a peace treaty with a dictator."

Ummmmm...Putin?

I'd be all in on a bet that far more people in the USA would think of Putin first when asked to name a dictator.

So on that we agree...NOBODY is going to sign a peace treaty with a dictator...not without a security provision, for obvious reasons.

Untenable. That's the motto of the DNC! You really need a History lesson or 3. I noticed you didn't want to tackle the uranium to Putin deal...whom did that? Yes, the actual date of incursion matters, not boots on the ground (there, that sounds real military and tougher than advisors which is code for CIA operatives. Which is code for spies!) I get it though, you have to be a standard flag carrier for the DNC. They don't need you, but there you are doing it.

Putin was duly elected. Zelensky was too. His term has expired and he's not allowing elections. Why? Because he'd lose and then the entire money laundering operation from all of those "brave" nations that have sanctimoniously propped him up will be exposed. Look on the bright side, at least the reporters he's jailed would be freed. I'm willing to say that you won't find videos of Putin dancing in high heels with other guys dressed the same or playing the piano with his deek. Zelensky...well...um...er...it was for Comedy! Yeah that's the ticket it was all for laughs. Just like him thinking he could actually win a war against Russia on their own. Then with our military aid. Then with untold amounts of taxpayer money. For Comedy sake riiight? No? It looks like a horrible Monty Python sketch made in the 70's...foretelling a way people could act...but here we are.

Yes, bet the house. Take a 2nd and 3rd mortgage and put it on the line. Americans are dumb AF. Illegals, INSURRECTION, Green New Deal, BLM, ANTIFA, Pedo Joe. Kumswalla Hairs and Tampon Timmay A-Walz...Americans will believe in anything the media tells them. It doesn't make it true. They need a boogeyman. The same boogeyman that is supposedly pulling the strings of our President? Yeah. There it is. The tired worn out narratives. The party is in shambles with no leadership. No sane messaging. I mean if you're trans and a lunatic I guess they're the party to belong to. Fighting DOGE for exposing the fraudulent slush funds to incredibly dumbass things...we're paying more on the debt of this nation than our military! Where do we cut? Let's start with Caitlin Jenner and work our way to serious stuff like cows farting and how they affect Climate Change. The democrats want to protect the spending of your tax dollars. I'm convinced they believe that it's all theirs.
