Yeah these things are the only animals that give me the willies. The only animal on this earth that is able to eat dirt and have its body extract the nutrients from the soil. Had one crawling across my yard one day, got the loosing end of a fight with something, was headed for the shed to die. Shot the thing 5 times and it wouldnt die...until it got under the shed that is. Stunk for months.

Had a sirloin from an elk my brother-in-law bagged.

Ate it today after letting it sit in a mesquite, lime marinade for two days.

grilled it up and it had a somewhat liver taste to it. I normally like the meat he brings me but this did not do it for me.

so, what does opposum taste like anyway? and don't say chicken.
