Theoretically speaking, I have tried every marca and most vitolas produced in the last 10+ years with the exception of a few EL and regional releases. As was stated in another thread, there are probably few who want to trade from their stash since they have invested time in aging what they like for their own consumption.

That being said, I think the maddieheadedho might like to try a Cohiba Secretos Maduro say from PLM '07 origional release? 🤔

I've probably tried a dozen or so varieties, not nearly so much as some posters above, and from the get-go (starting about 20 years ago) the PSD4 has been my personal favorite. Right now I have a handful of PSD4 LEs, and think they are stellar, and will get even better. However, just a couple weeks ago tried my first Party 898, and was blown away. I've never had a cigar - CC or NC - say to me before, "If you could only have one kind for the rest of your life, this would be it" but that's what the 898 did for me. Wow, just wow. Also partial to Monte #2 & Boli Belicoso Fino; still, I think so much of it is less "what is the best" and more "what do you really enjoy?" My 2 cents, anyway.

Thanks for getting this thread going; I've often wondered why there isn't more discussion of the topic on these boards.

Sad to say,but I've only tried the PSD4.Really enjoyed it,just don't know a reliable place to get CCs:-k

This thread is useless as far as what "likes and dislikes" are without a relation to the age of the sticks and how they have been stored. Since many only experience these cigars at first through a trade or gift they may be smoking cigars that are going through secondary fermentation (sick period) or need age to be ready.

Not surprising.....although i've smoked only 2 of the Cohiba Maduros now (Genios & a Magicos)...

I was left with 2 thoughts:

1) I won't ever be buying any
2) If I want a Maduro, the NCs do a Maduro better...and cheaper.

A lot of repeats here in the way of favorites.

I enjoy these the most out of what I have tried:
RASS
PSD4
Monte #2
Sancho Panza beli
Cohiba robusto
Punch Punch

Not to say I have had a lot by any means. I find the Montes fluctuate in enjoyability more than most the others I mention. The RASS is always excellent, but seem to need 3-4 years of chill time.

I like the idea of cc/pib, but the execution will be difficult. Most CC requires aging. Some for few months, and others for many years. Most noobs obtain CC through trading or bombs, and in the process the origin of CC is lost. And, some others don't have the patience. If CC in not properly aged, it tastes like a dodo. Not to mention the number of fakes out there. Once I traded with a brother here, and I received fake CC. It was an honest mistake, he got them from someone else, and he didn't know better. (I didn't even tell him)

So, when you trade or buy CC, make sure you trade with someone who knows CC, has the box, or bought it himself.

To help you decide on some CC:

Full body:
Monte #2 (best 3+ year of age)
Partagas Serie P #2 (best 2+ year of age)

Medium:
Ramon Allones SS (best value for money 1+ year of age)
Juan Lopaz #1, #2 (Very underrated cigar 1+ year of age)
Partagas Serie D #4 (Best between 1-3 years after that looses flavor)
Partagas 8-9-8(3+ years)
San Cristobal La Punta(2+ years of age)
Bolivar Gold Medal (2+ years)
Bolivar Corona Extra(2+ years)
Por Larranaga Petit Corona ( 5+ years, It tastes very different if not aged)
Cuabo Salomon (It has flavor resemble EDS, 2+ years)
RyJ Short Churchill (3+ years)
Punch Royal Seleccion No. 12 (3+ years)

Light:
Saint Luise Rey Regios (Good out of the box)
R y J Seleccion #3 (3+ years)
H.Upmann #2 (2 + years)

Great thread btw. I have been getting into them more and have been starting to put some away. The problem is aging them and actually waiting long enough to try them. My other problem is gifting them away. It's hard to say if I think they are that good compared to NC's, right now I would say no honestly. I think a big problem is that I have smoked some poorly kept cc's, I'm sure some fakes from buying online from people I don't know well enough, and cigars with not much age.

I have pretty much stopped buying them online because I don't trust most of the people. The people I trust are all pretty much on this site and there aren't any sales, so I am on a quest to find good sources with some aged smokes. I think I have a couple good sources but mainly for newer cigars. It's hard to put cigars away for a few years, taking up all that humi space, and not know if you are going to like the cigars or not. And then lets say in three years you love a certain cigar, well then you have to go and try to find a box from that year and normally people start price gouging.

So for me it's almost too much to think about. I want to smoke my cigars and enjoy them. If I can get an Illusione with a month rest and enjoy it a lot then I'm happy. I really wish CC's smoked great rott because I could judge them and put some away, but so far that has not been the case. I'll take a great nc rott over almost any CC.

I'm sure things will change, but at the moment it's hard for me to put cigars away for a couple of years with my limited space and I don't trust most online auctions as far as aged smokes go.

The other one that hasn't been mentioned yet (as least I don't think)....

Is Vegas Robaina. Nice chocolate & cream flavors to it, and IMO would be another good'en for you to seek out, or perhaps just go diggin' and you'll find one sittin' there amongst the 30 or so cc's you already gots.

Those look REALLY good!

A short and fat cigar with rather a glamorous presentation, it is very representative of the brand with those rich cuban flavours and creamy chocolate touches not forgetting to mention the slightly honeyed undertones. Delicious, do allow to age.

Those little SCdlH el principes are quite good.
Party shorts as well
Monte 4 or 5 I liked better than the 2

Had these And I know I like them

Well I don't know about the short/fat part.....cuz that doesn't sound right.....I was thinking more along the lines of the Unicos (pyramide)/Famosos (robo) vitolas. The profile on the other hand, that's the VR.
