Call me stupid{Im sure many of you will] But did you know that CB charges us a dollar "an item" for shipping costs on top of the weight charge. In other words if your shipping weight is say $6.95 they tack on another dollar per individual item you ordered. They also don't post the shipping charge on your invoice,so you have to figure it out for yourself.just an fyi for everybody for those of you that were stupid like me.

The auction says it, or did... also it is in the support section or something. Also, some add .50 an item... bid accordingly.

You could always pay 40% for your gars and have free shipping elsewhere.

You're right of course, but iIjust learned from customer service that they shot it up to a buck an item.

It is not a dollar an item and there is no weight charge... directly from the link found on the shipping tab of every single auction here:

Instead of paying individual shipping charges for each product, multiple items shipped to the same address won during the same shipping period (either DAILY or WEEKLY), only the greater of the shipping charges apply, plus an amount for each additional item:
Singles Category: $0.25
5-Packs Category: $0.50
Boxes Category: $1.00
Merchandise Category: $1.00
Samplers Category: $1.00
Free Fall Category: $1.00
All Others: $1.00

In other words, if you choose weekly shipping and win several different auctions, you pay $3.95 - $6.95 for one auction and $.25 - $1.00 for each of the other items... it's not the greatest thing in the world and shipping charges can get ridiculously high, but if you play it smart you can still get nearly everything here for much cheaper than you can anywhere else...

As Joel has already pointed out, it is not $1 per item. I personally do not like the add on charges, as I've had some weeks where shipping has cost me $20 to $30. I would prefer a flat rate charge like other auctions, but in Cbid's defense, all shipping charges are listed under the "shipping" tab on each and every lot. Learn to read web site terms before making bids and purchases.

+1 on the flat rate shipping!

Singles kill ya if you win enough lol

Yep - learned a tough lesson on the singles shipping "extras" this week. Had shipping charges of over $30 on purchases of less than $100 - this was all on cigars. Do not appreciate the unlisted "bump" to the final price. I like to be informed - even if it is ugly. When I seen stuff like this, I tend to be a bit more sensitive to other - or - perceived offenses, be they true or not.

CBID - Please remember that clarity can keep a customers trust. Do not want to feel like I need to read the "fine-print" on every transaction.

Although, I hear for "Platinum" members, shipping is free and they sometimes toss in a few FFPs to keep 'em happy! 😉

true, but singles is also the arena where great "deals" can be had for "middle of the road" cigars....those priced $3 to $5 each, if you know how/when to bid.

As has been mentioned, it is not an "unlisted bump" as you put it... I don't know how they could be more clear than by listing the shipping charges under a tab that says "shipping" on every single auction on the website...

Heracles, you're stupid.

There, now that's out of the way, some of you can go back to whining about paying 50 cents or a buck shipping per item added to the order of cigars that you just bought for 40% of on-line discount prices. I swear, some of you would still find something to complain about if they were giving the cigars away for free. Sheez.

Don't get me wrong - I knew that there would be associated costs with each item won.

This is what I object to...

Order Totals Pending Billed
Merchandise Total $124.00 $0.00
Shipping Total $0.00 $0.00
Sales Tax $0.00 $0.00
Order Total $124.00 $132.45

It's that bit between the Pending and Billed.... There is nothing in the invoice that tells me what it is for. Not that CBID would do it, but there is the opportunity for "mistakes". 🤦

And yes - for those of you keeping score, I misstated my original purchase price - my bad. (See how easy it is to 'fess up...) 🐴

Anyway - I do not object to my shipping charges. I'd just like the invoice to reflect my shipping charges instead of an amount "appearing" out of thin air. :-"

So you are asking for an additional column on the invoice that shows the shipping cost per item? Or a running shipping estimate as you win bids?

For the first, send CS a note explaining what you'd like to see and ask them to pass it on to IT, maybe they can add it to the invoices. The latter though, I seem to recall someone, SteveR or Gonz once explaining that because of the highest cost + per each charge nature of the formula, all it's exceptions and the live auctions, there was something that got in the way of it being used dynamically.

Thunder - just looking for the $8.45 to be listed under shipping total.

As you can see, the shipping charge listed on my invoice is $0.00 .

The $8.45 in shipping gets "ghosted" into the total of $132.45

Not a real biggie, just a very curious artifact of the billing at CBid.

The mothership lists shipping costs very nicely.

ie -

Sub-Total: $29.99
Shipping: $4.95
Sales Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $34.94

Again - not a huge deal - just a curious thing - can't think of a good reason why.

Oh, gotcha.

Odd, my last invoice from here (early February 2013), both the printed and emailed version had the shipping total on it.

Sub-Total: $34.00
Shipping: $12.25
Sales Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $46.25

I'd have to go digging for older invoices as that was the first order in many years for me, but I seem to recall they always had the shipping listed, at least on my invoices.

Have you contacted CS?

When buying in PA, Cbid charges sales tax and also charges taxes on shipping. They take your total purchases, add the shipping, then determine what the taxes are after they combine the purchases and shipping.

It seems that some other sites charge flat rate shipping. I recently got a shipment of 15 singles and three five packs from.........and the total shipping was under five dollars...I like that.😁

They do give you other options for faster shipping.

I choose the lesser charge to save $$$ and I don't mind if it takes an extra day or two to get my cigars.

just saying.....](*,)
