I'm new to Cbid, I have been smoking Cigars off and on for about 15 years.

I Started with a lot of crap in the beginning, and lately tried some Gran Habanos that I like but when I read reviews they are so mixed from some who like them and others who get down right obnoxious about how much they hate them.

I have smoked some of the "premium Brands" and enjoyed some but for everyday I like many of the Gran Habanos I have had.

So I guess I wanted to know what people thought here.

They tend to have a barnyard taste that turns some people off. Alot.

Well yes they are better aged that is true. I guess I need to pick up some of the "better brands " again and do some comparison

this is regarding the GH 2002s............Used to buy mazos of 20 years ago....
decent cheapie yard gar,,,,,always a few turds in the bundle......sometimes the grassy thing Z and Opelmanta talk about......they are one-dimensional, but generally smooth

my tastes went up a few notches I suppose........I don't buy them anymore.....but there's also the "tweaner" factor for me, in that for 25 cents more per cigar, I can get a Bueso Genesis........so it became a no brainer.

There where pic posted of a GH 2002 cut open with all its wonders exposed.The pic was not flattering… short filler & scraps. Not enticing to smoke what ever the price may be. The following link offers the best pic. There have been worse examples of the cigars content.

Are you still eager to smoke one KOC??? If so, why?

Buy better cigars. 25¢ more for a Bueso Genesis isn't saying much for that cigar either IMHO. Anyone cut one open?

I'm not sure one cigar taken apart is a good representation of the brand and the 10's of thousands made.

After a good sample of a number of them taken apart randomly then I would be more impressed, but the poster said it was a problem before taking it apart, it may have been a DUD. 🤔

They used to be a smooth, one dimensional chocolate bomb for me........but a few out of each mazo needed to be tossed early due to that musty/grassy taste, or simply not burning right........I didn't care......cheapie yard gar........I smoked well over a 100 of these back in 2010 and 2011.

The Bueso Genesis Toros and Robs that I hoarded in 2012 and 2013 were great.
Just starting to smoke the ones I bought in early/mid 2014......still fantastic.
I'm happy to hear you don't like them.......spread the word!

If you stick to 3 Siglos (or whatever they're called nowadays) and #5 Corojo, you won't have a reason to complain about GH again. Veer far from that path at your own risk.

With one possible exception? Chazbo, is that VL anywhere near the VL from 9 or 10 years ago? I haven't tried the 'new' one. The old was incredible.

Buy better cigars and forgo the initiation

I have learned a decent cigar costs its only a bargain if you know that brand otherwise 95% of the time WalMart may have a better cigar 😰
