I use a Moist n Air but I still have about 4 lbs of beads spread out. I don't trust the regulators on any of them after years of experience. They are notorious for running high and low which is detrimental to a stabile environment.

The key is to saturate the block but no standing water. In the early stages new foam actually freshens and filters the air in the humidor.
I used the foam in both my large cabinet sized Oasis unit and smaller units for 15 years with no problems. Distilled water ONLY, the kind that specifically has no sodium in it and some glycol in the mix the first time you wet the block retards mold or mustiness very well, you just have to keep up with it.
With passive humidifiers the foam is a terrible moisture medium, it can mold in a matter of just a few weeks depending on how wet and the temperature.
All the opinionated and rabid anti foam crowd will say different but if done right it works, first hand experience over many years.
